The Turbo market is odd sometimes . If Porsche decides for any readon to cut production numbers or even discontinue the car (like Model years 06 , as well as 99, 00) the price can climb. Plus if the new integrated engine car is NOT a home run then the former model will spike in price .

In 1998 I bought a low mi 993 Turbo and had to pay OVER MSRP for a two year old car . This probably won't happen with the 997tt but don't think that the recent price plunge party will go on forever . In short --NOW is the time to buya used Turbo .

mhh,

I made the move a couple of weeks ago. My old car was an 08 C2 which had 10,000 kms on it. While that sounds very young there were some extenuating circumstances which made the change make more sense than normal. I went to an 09 C2S, did drop a few dollars but in the scheme of things not as much as you may expect.

Seeing you already have an S the change would make much less sense for you I'd say. However be aware that as 911 sales are over 50% down on the same time last year in Australia, PCA have a number of late 08 build MY09 cars still looking for a home. That's what I bought.

OP didn't say this was about money, yet almost all replies were. I had an 07 C2S that I traded in on a CPO 07 GT3. Both great cars, but while the GT3 was great on the track, it wasn't on the street. I then went to an 09C2S and love it - just the right balance and is perfect on the street and being understated is a plus.

Is the car significantly different - depends on your sensitivity to such things. I find the Sport PASM and new engine very significant improvements over my 07.

With any car you can't look at any decision as a smart one in a financial way. Also, a forum is no place to get meaningful advice, such as "should I make the change". You have to do what I did and go find a dealership with a car configured the way you would want one (in my case, 09 w/ manual and Sport Pasm) and drive it for a day to find out for yourself if it's worth making the change.

In my case I got fantastic money from the dealer for my very low option used 07 C2S and paid 10.3% off MSRP for the 09 (the CPO GT3 was basically a wash). So the cost side wasn't significant. Would I do it again? Yes.

Ced is on a distinguished road
I would wait for the new model in 2010? If you really have the urge.
