Sneak peek ( 997.2) intake

Here is a sneak peek of our prototype intake that will be used in conjunction with our RSR style decklid. The intake will be construction will be 100% carbon fiber. Stay tuned for what we have in store this week ( the system should be pretty much finished by weeks end )

Note: This is a true COLD AIR system. The air ( hot ) from within the engine compartment never comes in contact with the air being directed into the throttle body.

Looks like a nice copy of the Motorsport intake from the cup cars.

But what about water intrusion?

Great point however consider the fact that they also run in the rain. This was engineered with the Porsche Motorsports GT3 Cup car intake in mind and there is a "drain " if you want to call it that system that releases the water and prevents it from going into the throttle body.

This intake is very similar to the intake on the cup cars which run in ALMS as well as the 24hrs. Those cars do not have any issues in inclement weather

Stay Tuned

Yeah, but those cars are not stopped at traffic lights and stop-n-go traffic in a downpour either. If I could drive flat out from my office to my garage, I'd have no issues with it.. ;-)

We still have the cooling fans in place in order to help with the heat when your in traffic. In regards to the rain / water, so we integrated holes in the bottom of the intake to shed any water that is collected in heavy downpour. The cup cars run in inclement weather all the time with out any issues. I hope this was able to answer your concerns.

I have a question. Does the 997 not already have a CAI? Mine (09 997S) appears to pull air from under the deck lid (wing).

What am I missing?

We eliminated the OEM " Extremely restrictive " Airbox in order to generate more flow--------> resulting in more power.

Also, without giving away too many details , on your stock setup the airbox is located in the engine bay. It gets hot, so any air that passes through it also gets hot. In our case the intake air will be "cold" as in there will be no way for it to get "hot" as it enters the throttle body.
