997s or 997.2 base?

Hello,

So here's the deal my cousin wants a 911 Carrera (auto, I know, I know). We've decided the best one to get for him is either a (left over) 2008 997s TIP or a 2009 C2 PDK. Both will have similar options, actually the 2008 will prob have more since the two we found have an MSRP of 95k and the MSRP on the base C2 is around 85. Both are about the same price after discounts.

What would you 997 pros get? I'm leaning towards the 2009, because PDK, the LED lights, and its an "2009."

Thanks

Edit: cant find a poll option. any help?

if auto, then the 09 pdk. if 6speed, i would have sprung for the 08

OR buy the 09 and start modding especially the soft suspension and ride height with 19" wheels

Pretty much a no brainer, 997.2

Talking auto box? Really a no brainer, 997.2

About to pull the trigger on a leftover 08 - good deal?

great advice so far, keep it coming!

And yes it must be an auto... If it were up to me, I would get the C2s in man.

PDK all day. I use to have a C2S 07 Tip and now a C4S 09 PDK. once you try PDK you never go back

For same $ get '09. Pretty much some power as '08 S. All you'll need is suspension upgrade.

The PDK > Tiptronic
This makes all the difference in the world if one must have an auomatic car , The only exception is the legendary Gt1 engine in the Turbo vs the unknown PDK future Turbo.

I'll see and raise. A complete no brainer. PDK. An auto P-car is just sinful.

Its not that sinful I did it after one TT and TWO GT3s. I was so blown away by the test drive that after back surgery I felt it was the way to go. The sport mode and sport mode plus solved all my GT3 and track requirements.
several of my track buddies have done the same thing. one guy was a hardcore Ferrari guy and now he drives a PDK.

You can get 10k OFF the 09 on TOP of what ever you negotiated PLUS the 1.9 if your credit is good enough. I was amazed at our credit scores

isn't 997.2 pdk c2 faster than 997.1 c2s? At least it feels like my 09 c2 speeds up quicker than 997.1. Maybe not.

I dont think were going to be doing many mods, just simple stuff like wheels, tints, etc.
