I Want a 997.2 SOOOOOO Bad

Ok im a little jealous with all these new P owners posting their pics of their new 997.2 w PDK and all jk i am jealous but congrats to you guys. I LOVE my 997.1 C2S Cab but the 997.2 C2S w PDK has me drooling. I took one for a Test Drive B4 and thought the car was just wrong. The susp..the brakes...the PDK is a unbelievable tranny and I love a 6spd. Im def getting a 997.2 in a yr or so when my car gets some more equity. Any other 997.1 guys feel this way??? Also some vids below of the BEAST the 997.2 C2S PDK is 4shoooo the best 911 ever made IMHO.

997.2 vs 996 Turbo

997.2 vs a M3 V8

997.2 vs a R8

wow - didn't realize that there would be that big of a difference between a 997.2 and a R8.

I agree with you though, a 997.2 and PDK is a tremendous technical achievement. Personally, I'm still really happy with my 997.1S (6-speed) and would rather wait to see what Porsche comes out with for the 998(?). There'll be plenty of 997.2's to choose from then...

I was shocked when Top Gear did a test with the R8 against the 997.1 S and, in a straight line, the 997 S outperformed the R8 (but just barely)... here, though, wow.... drooling over the performance of the .2!!

the newer gen 911 is almost always better than the old, but not enough for a 997.1 owners to take a big hit to trade up.

the only 997.2 that is worth trading up for me is the GT3.

This is crazy. (997.2) I think I am ready for my first P-car. Is the new Turbo getting an updated DFI engine as well?

The .2 is a clear improvement on many fronts over the .1. Besides the PDK, the DFI design seems like a great change for the better. More power, quicker throttle response and better MPG. Not bad at all.
But the best of the best is the chassis improvements which take away the legendary front 'Porsche bob' that's been present since my 914 back in the day. I'd love to get rid of that bad behavior. Coilovers and sways have helped, but it's deep in the pre-.2 gene pool.
That said, my .1, having been mod'ed to my tastes is just fine with me. I'm still in love, and I'll break the bank if I'm always chasing the latest thing. I don't think I'll be swapping for years.
But for those who are moving to the .2, congratulations. Sure seems like a vunderkar.

I love the PDK so I can't fault your logic , though trading up is expensive... OTOH it's not just about 'logic' of course!

I totally agree with the susp and chassis. That front end wobble is totally gone. Also like mentioned I cant wait to see the 998 haha. It will prob be pushing over 400hp ill say like 410, and again the susp and chassis. I mean this is what Porsche called a refresh haha a new engine chassis brakes and too many others to mention. BTW when does the 998 come out does current gen cars run 5 or 6 yrs???

This is your day . There has never been a better day to buy a 997.2 since this car was launched . Price/inventory/ and competition has these cars rolling out closing out July sales .

And yep it is awesome . I am current in a state of Porsche bliss these days . I took out the Turbo today . Wow --I had missed the race exhaust note , shifting my own gears , and the massive jet like power . I came home and parked it and had to go out again so I took out the 997.2 . I can't even stop grinning .

I want one too , and IŽll have mine within a week. CanŽt waite to put my hands on the beast. I loved the PDK and the potential it has. PDK + SC + DFI defenetly a great mariage ...
