I was at Porsche this morning, the guy suggested me that I don't do the conversion since they havent done it yet, so they are not sure about the pins and warning lights, and he made me think, by conversion, it actually kills the resale value of the car. Still, will be thinking about it, cos now we got everything cleared out, I guess its just a matter of one small decision :-)

Yes the conversion is not as simple as you would think if you want it done right.

Rear is just fitting it onto the body, plug everything in and getting a dealer to program your tails ($100).

Front is damn damn complicated as you have to essentially rewire a $60 harness onto your $700 main wiring harness.

I decided to do this because I had a 997 aero kit and didnt like how my mk1 gt3 looked pretty much the same as my old one (minus the rear bumper). Plus I needed a front and rear bumper respray.

Resale?
Maybe it hurts it but mine has been so perfectly done im sure I wont lose any money although I know I wont get a premium for it once it comes time to sell.

Some people dont even know what car i have. I get greeted with faces of confusion by fellow porsche drivers. Some people ask me if its even a real gt3 since i have no exterior badging and its essentially a mk1 and mk11 hybrid.

Either way do it if you only want it bad. I went into it without not knowing exactly and it turned out to be $$$$$$$$$$ and time consuming but damn does it look good.

So for the rear all that is needed is the tail lights, the bumper, and a reprogram? No other parts or modules required?

agreed !

BUt the mki front gt3 bumper looks way better than the mkii version in my opinion. Having the missing element of the LED bumper lense is alleviated once the conversion is done...
