Front license plate without drilling holes

OK ... I know I could just risk not having a license plate on the front in CA, but if I can get the plate on there without permanently drilling the bumper ... I'd really like to.

So far the best options I've found seems to be this Corvette front license plate bracket from Top Flight. Has anyone here tried this and can verify it works OK? I'm going to be putting this on a 2007 Targa 4 and if it isn't going to block an intake, I'm guessing it'll work fine.

If anyone has better suggestions, let me know. Not really into the off center tow hook thing that I've seen around here.

The idea that I think is best and always wanted to try IS...take front bumper off (really easy)...urethane on some earth magnets from the back...put bumper back on and then glue magnets to the frame/license plate but make sure you put felt over the magnets, then stick it on!
But be sure and use a heavy enough magnet and believe me them magnets are strong!

That magnet idea sounds interesting. Is the front bumper plastic?

My name is not Poly, and I don't work for the king. (Get it? Ok, maybe I haven't had enough coffee yet today.)

Edit: This was a non-sequitor comment. Sorry for hijacking the thread, OP.

Skene design has a nice product that is not off-center. you do have to tap the bumper but at least it is the underside so it is out of sight if you choose to remove it later. Check it out

Has anyone tried using the Porsche plastic front license plate holder with 3M adhesive trim tape instead of screws?

I recommend this one from JCS, a Forum Member (light, well built, priced right):

Manufacturer's thread HERE.

Additional info posted by the manufacturer:

"... I make a front plate mount which attaches to the tow hook inlet .
No holes to drill, nothing touches the bumper .It installs in just a few minutes and removes without leaving a trace.
It consists of a machined aluminum bolt and a heavy duty bracket to which the plate is attached.
It sells for $37.50 (including shipping in US)
It fits 911's and Boxter/Caymans
If anyone needs one, you can contact me at:
stumberger_r@msn.com ..."

Got mine from JCS. Works exactly as advertised and is well made. I wouldn't pay the extra for the others that accomplish the same thing. Magnets or tape - you really risk it coming off or someone simply making off with your plate.

I had a similar problem attaching my license plate to the rear of my NSX. I didn't want the bolts to be exposed, so I used 3M double sided tape across the whole length of the plate. I mounted it a year ago, and it has been there ever since.
