Can anyone explain me the difference between FABSPEED mufflers and AWE for a 3.6 997? Which are louder and are they both straight through design? What do you guys think?

Hi Montreal, I dont know what they are doing in terms of the inner design of there mufflers but ours have a straight through design for maximum power and we also use chambers for different models. Our mufflers are all T304 Stainless steel and are warranted for life. Our mufflers make power and sound and are all Dyno tested in house. Our mufflers make 10+ HP increase on the 997 and give it a really nice sound improvement. Check out the videos below.

I had Fabspeed Max Flo mufflers on my 06 and 07 Carrera S (same mufflers just swapped between cars). I put a lot of miles on these mufflers plus 3 years of DE's...well over 30 DE days. The Fabspeed mufflers were as good as new when I got my 09 Carrera S. Fabspeed builds a solid muffler with excellent sound.

There are quite a few threads about exhaust systems for the 997 on this forum, rennlist and every other Porsche forum over the last few years. It would be worthwhile to do some searching. The issue has been hammered to death.

(1) mix-n-match can result in drone (stock mufflers + hiflow cats, etc..)
(2) sound is subjective and some people like it, some say it's a motor boat, etc...
