I think I am finally pulling the trigger on a 997! I have found pricing for a clean C2S to be all over the board---edmunds and KBB seem useless so I thought I'd ask the group for some advise.
The car is a 2006 C2S coupe 6-speed in seal gray with black leather. It has 25.5k miles with CPO warranty remaining thru 2011. Options include: full leather with power adaptive sport seats, sports chrono, nav, bose etc. The car has a clear bra and a new set of Michelin Pilots. It looks perfect. The owner was asking 56.5k and lowered to 52.5k. He will take 50k. This seems like a great deal to me---thoughts?

Sounds good. I saw the FS ad for the car you were speaking of on Craigslist and I think another board member down in So Cal was interested in the car as well. Post pics!

I went up to Sac to drive it today. I'm going to pass. It looks amazing--from 5 feet. A lot of the interior trim was really worn, leather scratched etc... mechanically it was fine... He said his wife drove it mostly. I'll keep looking---I've waited too long to settle.
Ah, what is too good to be true usually is...
Don't give up and you are correct not to settle. Find one you'll be happy with. I'd bet the DME on that car would have provided some entertainment as well...

Wow, I looked at that car and drove it Sat. I thought it was in great shape. A couple of the knobs need replacement but that's it - maybe $300 total. The owner really took care of the car IMO. The wear is really minimal and the car drives great.
The tags are paid for another year - that's a $700 savings as well. I'd seriously reconsider as I've been looking and think that's a very good deal. (my search has changed to a 996TT)
I really doubt you will find anything similar in that range.
2006 C2S - $50K
- all the right options (Bose, Xenon, Nav, CD changer, full leather, etc.)
- Seal Grey
- CPO for two more years ($2K value)
- tags paid for another year ($700 value)
- clear bra
- two owners
- new tires
Even the Manheim results from last month show it's a decent deal.

I wouldnt represent this car if i didnt beleive in it, come to Sac have a look within 5 feet and if you look past the ash tray at $137, the interior door leaver $128 and the climate control fan swith (unfortunately whole unit $412) - See sunset for pricing - you'll see a great example of a water cooled Porsche, personally im air cooled and i can live with the odd wear item here and there. $50k on a 06 in warranty is a good honest price, im acting as Consignee at yes zero fee's as the owners are good friends - So you guys who were scared off get back on the train and come See the 997, Aaron sorry you wasted your time on viewing the car, its a big step from a boxster S or even a golf GTI and i do appreciate that if youve been looking for a long time and your funding the pruchase via 3rd party you want to get the right one. My doors still open if you want me to continue a hunt outside of ebay and craigslist.
