Never mind the weight, the distraction of the instructor telling you where to go when to brake, etc is always a good reason to slow down.
hahaha I know what you mean! But I had an awesome instructor. My favorite was when he said... see if you can keep up with that track prepped 964 and then let me go to work.
Here we are stuck behind a Boxster and biding our time until the passing zone!

I dont know how well you know the Streets of Willow but I was able to make time on him through the fish bowl but in the back course he managed to start sneaking away. On the straights I had a little bit more muscle but stayed behind him since ultimately he was doing faster laps than I was.
I have never driven see Streets of Willow, so I can't comment, but I think that if you keep working at it you can do the 997C2S proud by catching him and get the point.

Yeah my best time was 1:35 and Gomez was doing about 1:30 in a similar 997S. I need to figure out how to drop about 8 seconds and really get some good times! We were both spanking some of the GT3's and the TT that was on the course with us.
Hey Jason, I think that car needed a bigger wing. If the wing was bigger, I'm sure the pass wouldn't have been an issue!

hahaha I know what you mean. You should have seen some of the wings on the older 911's!!! They do have a purpose but they are shockingly big sometimes!
i hate to bump a dead thread but I had a very interesting and useful conversation tonight about seats, comfort, weight, and speed around a track. I was asking about taking out my AC and getting some new Seats to get the car lighter...
The guy I was talking to said that if your driver isnt comfortable, then you arent going to be able to go as fast. Keep the car comfortable for the driver and over the long run, you are going to be putting faster laps in!
This is so true! I just installed a cage in my car and now the seat is much closet to the wheel (im 6'3 300lbs!) and I noticed that im much slower overall now because of the uncomfortable seat position.
Because they did not get it for its intended purpose. They bought it (perhaps) for its looks and certainly for show.
Or perhaps its "purpose" can be viewed as both entertainment and artistic appreciation. Not everything that someone has is used as someone else views it.
