Anyone Using Sprint Booster On Their Porsche?
This was mentioned in a couple posts I came across here and an another forum, as a way to get the benefits of Sport Chrono (minus the clock). The comments from several people were very positive.
I really wanted Sport Chrono on my the Porsche that I just purchased, but it did not have it, and the deal was simply too good to pass up. If the Sprint Booster can provide me with the same degree of throttle response, I would really be happy.
I would appreciate any feedback from owners of the product. Thanks.

People around here have been using successfully the Softronic engine mapping software to do what you are after.

Second that - softronic wakes up non-SC car completely and it very easy to do. Totally worth it.

I've read about Softronic here, and seen nothing but positives, but wouldn't using Softronic void the warranty? I've got four years Porsche warranty, and I would not want to do anything to negatively affect that.
I've spoken to the dealer service reps and they don't have any issue with the Sprint Booster, since it's a specific hardware device that simply gets placed in the accelerator chain, but I'm fairly certain they wont allow a change to the software mapping while under warranty.

Official perception is that if you need to go to dealer for anything you simply flash your original file back which will revert car back to stock. After you done with your dealer stuff you`ll flash softronic tuned file again. 10 minute procedure.

Thanks very much for the information, Utkinpol. You've been helpful on a number of my questions. I've flashed motherboards, Blu Ray players and a lot of other things, which are sometimes quite problematic. Is flashing and reflashing really this easy with this software?

SprintBooster is very popular amongst BMW owners. It's less than half the price of a software flash and a easy DIY install.

You`re welcome. Yes, it is pretty easy. Softronic will provide you with a cable, you run their software that reads your ECU and this file will be uploaded into Softronic web site, then in several days you`ll get tuned file and flash it into your car. It is pretty straight forward. It is advised you charge your battery to full capacity prior to this procedure and keep battery on charger during flash as car will run all fans during ECU flash. Again, more important is to make sure battery was properly charged before flash. Flash itself takes 10 min or so.
If your car does not have SC option this tune up makes heck of a difference. You can always email softronic directly with questions - they are quite responsive.
