Talking My white car is harder to maintain than my black car

I see post after post with the basic theme of the drama of black car cleanliness .. Haha .

Now it's true that one of my 997S cars was silver and that was a breeze but this white car is not easy to keep clean .

With black the issues seem to be how the paint shows dust or swirls and maybe its from so many years of black cars that i have mastered the art of careful washing . Plus now that i found El Chino the detailer I would laugh in the face of dust.

But the white car is a different species when it come to cleaning . I don't worry about dust or swirls as much but it sure has other things to awaken concern .

1) A rock chip nicked my front bumper . On a black car it's hardly visible but on a white car it becomes a spectacle. I will probably use some touch up paint because it is so small .

2) I am not placing film on my car which can yellow and with a white car its very visible.

3) A scuff mark on the door sill on a black car is a nuisance but on a white car it's an immediate eyesore .

4) Most people see a black car and if its clean they are amazed. If it's dirty that's what they expected . With a white car that's not the case .

Sorry Larry. I can tell you that the GT Silver Metallic is awesome at hiding dirt, more so than other silver cars I've owned. However, just because it doesn't show it I still know the dirt is there and my OCD kicks in and I have to clean it. Same hassles just less noticeable.

My GT Silver car is so easy. The black one is very tough.

my next porsche is probably going to be GT or maybe aqua. I really like atlas (current color) but it shows dirt about like black.

Rock chip touch-up is far easier to correct in white.

I feel my Arctic silver 997 is the easiest to clean, i had black cars, and one red one, but the silver for some reason doesn't show, then again it always in the garage, it's never left outside for too long when it is outside.
p.s to yrralis1 the white color does show the yellow after awhile, but it might be a good investment if it is going to help you save on painting the car every time you get numerous chip on the bumper and hood.

Larry, the other way to deal with your issue is to get busy with other things. My schedule is so busy that I hardly have time to wash my cars, let alone worry about scuff or rock chip.

I see. It is a garage queen. I am sorry you do not enjoy driving your car.

Larry - 100% agree. My old Basalt 08 was easy to keep looking good but my Carrara 09 is a total pain. Even a light shower flicks up enough road dirt to make it look very sad.

Vegas this week, Orlando next.....

oil spots and tar are the toughest and noticable on a white car... had a grey car before and NEVER had any issues! oh well... price to pay...
