Cosmoline/hot tires/clutch. Most likely undercarriage protective cosmoline.

If it's cosmoline or hot tires, it's normal and that is probably the smell you notice.

If you slip the clutch and burn it (and you should notice that) then yeah you are wearing the clutch. That is less likely. A well operated clutch in a 911 goes well past 100k+ miles.

I noticed you say it's right passenger side... are you sure that it's not from both sides? You may want to have this checked by your dealer.
Do you release fully the parking brake when you roll? Could it be that the passenger side drum parking brake is sticking? Ask your dealer.

Yep, I get the comment from the wife everyday I pull into the garage.-- "Hmm, I smell burnt VW beetle"..
Ain't she a pisser???? (her example of an ideal car is a Camry)

I would not worry about it. I have heard that everyone's car pretty much does it.

My 06 smelled the same, took it in for a check, they said the same as above, eased up after 30K, unless I ran her hard..

Glad this was asked, I was also wondering if it's normal and was going to contact my dealer about it.

Appreciate the info.
