I drove a Panamera 4S today. What an impressive car . It's comfortable , handles great for its size , has plenty of power , and offers a comfort ride in air suspension right down to a tight sport plus . I actually felt the car lower --very cool.
The PDK was different .
1) In normal mode --it actually begins in 2nd gear . Talk about upshifting right out of the gate .
2) There are no rough downshifts in sport auto mode.
3) sport plus adjusts shifting and won't wait until redline unless pedal control dictates a more aggressive setting.
All in all the PDK was more civilized . The car was beautiful . Even the rear is growing on me . It attracted a ton of attention . Mercedes S class owners were catching up to look at it . I think the Panamera is better as it offers this cross between a big car and Porsche bloodlines .

I am on the fence about it. I look at it and I really like it then I look at it again not so impressed. I am reserving judgement at this time and need to test drive it to really get a good feel for it.

I went to the unveiling here a couple of nights ago. The car looks very nice and is really rich inside. The price point seems very right when you look at the 750i or the MB S AMG. But this car is much more interesting and unique than those cars. Seems more of a match for the Quattroporte and is probably quite a bit cheaper and just as beautiful and unique. I think it would probably sell if it pushed the $200k price, but at this price it should be competitive. Heck, if anyone's priced the Cayenne Turbo, it is up over $120k. You can easily get a Panamera for less. The electric "hatchback" will take some getting used to though!

Thanks for the Panamera feedback. I havent test driven the vehicle---it was unveiled yesterday evening at the local dealership---but I never had any doubts that the car would be a true performer. I appreciate your first-hand account and confirmation!
No four-door vehicles for me, sports models or not, but if I ever decided on one, this would be the one.

Dealership sell both and I saw the Maserati sitting in the adjacent room . Hands down I'd pick the Porsche which will have more durability and reliability . Plus a Turbo with PDK will eat up just about anything ANG has to offer and once the Tuners get to this car MB , BMW and Maserati all will face quiite a competitor.
The car i dove has a sport exhaust and came with air suspension and sport chrono . This is a great car for those looking at big sedans.
It's not in the cards for me . Maybe when I am too old to climb into a 911.

I agree, if by saying that the Panamera is more civilized you imply that the 911 PDK is sportier. That is the Panamera PDK is soft.
I like the Panamera. It is perhaps the best sports sedan around, but it is no substitute for an 11. These days many aim to soften the 911 and make it into a cushy luxo box. That is a shame.

i saw it in person and think it looks better in pics lol
My dealer has three of them on the lot right now, and I agree that it is much better looking in person than it photographs. I really think the only competition it has is actually the Aston Martin Rapide. And the Rapide wins hands down in the looks department, but from a technology perspective the Panamera looks to be the much better choice.

Gotta agree with Bara on this one. I don't know if its the "extra" seam between the rear doors and the bumper or what but the profile and rear end of the car just looks odd.
Its appearance plus the price tag that goes along with it is reason enough for me not to even want to drive one.
