Anyone has GT3 front bumper w/ X51 Power Kit?

Does anybody have an OEM GT3 front bumper with X51 package? I am looking at the Aerokit & GT3 front bumpers for my car, and my dealer said that the GT3 bumper would not fit because I will be installing the X51 center radiator on my car. He said that the dimensions for X51 center radiator & GT3 Center radiator are different...

I then contacted Suncoast and they said that they have done it in the past and the X51 and GT3 radiators are the same. I really am confused...

Has anyone done it so far???

andrewdr is on a distinguished road
I did not have a problem, however i do not know which radiator was installed. Orbit racing installed the radiator and First Class Auto in Deerfield installed the Aerokit.

I have seen this done on numerous accounts with no issues.

If you put in the aerokit front bumper all you need to do is remove the center cover on the bumper where the radiator would sit. You replace that with the GT3 support from the GT3 bumper (I actually have an extra one lying around if you decide to do this). If you install an OEM GT3 bumper then you do not have to do anything to it when installing the third radiator.

Like stated above, your dealer is wrong, the X51 and GT3 center radiators are the same. You can get either the aerokit or GT3 front bumper to work!

Thanks for the responses guys!

What the dealer said to me made no sense at all either... I thought the only difference between the 2 bumpers was the Top vent part. The GT3 bumper has it cut and has a security bracket for it, and the Aerokit bumper does not have the top vent at all...

Does anyone have any pictures of how they look from the inside? I have never seen them in person...

This pic is taken from "justatoy's" thread on his magnetic license plate frame install. You can see that the lower opening on the GT3 bumper cover has a plastic retaining frame. If you buy the areokit bumper cover this area has a plastic cover instead of an opening. To run a center radiator on the aerokit bumper you will need to swap out the cover for the retaining frame which is easy to do.

I simply don't get how they could say something like this... The bumper cover is almost identical! So if it fits one, should fit the other one as well...

Conversion

It is possible that the dealer was cautioning that the snorkles on the radiators would need to be contended with as those for the 997 are different than the GT-3.

Don't be fooled into buying the radiator kit in seperate pieces, it is far cheaper by buying the kit 997-044-100-05 and then contending with the center snorkle separately, which although the radiators are the same, the center holes in the bumpers, I believe, are different. and may necessitate a GT-3 snorkle.

You will also need a lower splitter & fasteners (Figure $150). I suggest the Motorsports version. It is cheaper, looks cool and the sacrifice in cooling from the lack of brake duct holes is generally regarded as insignificant.

I would also suggest you consider any screens you might desire early on as you will save the removal and reinstall of the bumper for the versions which mount to the back side of the unit, by installing them at the time of conversion.

I have a brand new OEM GT3 in the box for $1500. If interested.
