I installed the same intake on my 996 4S and did not experience any "bad" noise in the higher rpm's. Your install looks good. It does not look like there is any contact with belts etc.... Make sure your intake snorkel tube is lined up with your decklid when the lid is closed. Good luck. The boy's at EVO will be able to help you out. Have you maually rev'ed the motor with the decklid open so you can see/hear any contact issues?

some notes from me:
-i made two holes in back as you can see in photo like holes in oem kit(next photo) for water..

-the kit had holes in the black kit that goes inside filter (but no screws) and i made two holes in kit and tide the filter on it

i made test drive in car and i feel that goes better!(i also have tuned ecu)

but i have too "bad" noise between 5000 and 5500rpm in all gears (without or not my PSE).Is this normal?
the same notes have been sent to Evoms mail.

it is not a sound of clips, screws etc.I hear very deep sound but very very loud in those rpms so loud that it "hits" my ears with windows closed!

For some reason mine did the same thing at a little higher RPMs when I installed it last winter (in conjunction with complete exhaust system and flash). Pretty much stopped after a week or two without me doing anything.
I don't have the extra drain holes, but wonder if this might be part of your 'problem'?

now i noticed my dyno
dyno+tunning+pse
in those rpm(5000-5500) that i heard a lot, you can see that hp and torque fell down so maybe my programmer "ask" from ecu map more air and gas and now it has it!

I have the fabspeed air intake on my 997.2S . i also experience this "bad" noise you are referring to at high rpms (5.5-7). It does sound nice but it is accompanied by a loud, annoying buzzing sound that drones the whole cabin. Im not sure but i think my installation was spot on. No other mods done to the car.
Any others who have experience with intakes on these cars ?
