18" Carrera Classic Wheels

Perhaps another dumb question, but again, I am a new owner: Are 18" the five spoke stock Carrera Classic wheels on the 996 the same five spoke 18" stock wheels on the 997? I have the 19" Carrera S wheels and want to change to the the 18" five spoke and am wondering what years will work, but don't want to put a wheel on the 997 that wasn't available for the 997. Thanks for any information.

Pretty much the same, I think. Just be sure the sizes (diameter, width and offset) match and you're good to go.

I think that the wheels have differnet offsets, but you should be able to use them.

The offsets are different.
997 rims vs 996
Fronts: 8x18 ET 57 vs 8x18 et50
Rears: 10x18 ET58 vs. 10x18 ET65

Don't know if they will fit or not, but the 997 rims didn't fit on my 996

the 996 wheels are definitely a different style. If you compare them closely, the 996 version has thinner spokes that taper. The 997 wheels (I believe they're called Carrera III's) have a thicker spoke that is fairly straight.
