The range 4 does concern me, though it's only a 5 which means it was only in that range for 2 revolutions of the engine. Obviously the car was driven hard in the 186th hour. I would pass.
Range 1: 7300-7500 RPM
Range 2: 7500-7700 RPM
Range 3: 7700-7900 RPM
Range 4: 7900-8400 RPM
Range 5: 8400-9500 RPM
Range 6: 9500-11000 RPM

I see no reason to buy a car which doesn't have a relatively clean DME. Error shifting or driver inattention producing level 4 over rev would be enough for me to walk.
yep, wouldn't buy it and didn't buy a couple due to DME that had level 4 and higher. In fact, look around, I found one with only Level 1 and then only 24.

One money shift. It would be interesting to know what are the hours on the car now? My car had the last overrev shortly before I bought it - the prior owner took it out for one last push! But I didn't have any ignitions beyond range 2. I'm with Larry, no reason to buy a car like that when there are others around. Is this a "dealer car" by any chance? On the hand, the record looks like only one money shift, which doesn't suggest the car was taken hard to redline very often. If it were, it would show a lot of range 1 and 2 ignitions. From the experts that have chimed in on this board, such a limited range 4 ignition shouldn't do real harm to the engine. Whether or not this is a statement on the overall condition of the car is up to you. Factor it into your decision though. New Country in Greenwich has a ton of '09's (or had anyway), might be worht checking out.
