Took two days off from my 997S

.. and decided to drive the Turbo . What a difference in so many ways . I almost feel like both cars are heightened in the absence of either .

The first thing I notice on the Turbo is the return to the manual transmission . Gone is the ease of the automatic modes or the fast shifts but also gone is the sentiment of having to decide what mode to select . Part of me misses some of the luxuries and peformance of the PDK and another part welcomes the simplicity of the manual box .

The next thing I noticed is the amazing power . Holy crap the Evt700 really is fast . The sound of the Tubi race exhaust backed up with 700 Hp along with its widebody stance seems to get noticed . I never really notice others looking at the car but could not help notice the different level of attention the Turbo gets . People do move out of the lane . The sedans and cars which often try to challenge the 997S seem to back off totally when they see the beast . I did have one idiot in a Volvo cut me off though so nothing is perfect.

I really miss the items like bluetooth and ipod . I am back to Cd's and headset . In fact many of my ipod selection is more recent so I ended up listening to music which has sat in my Cd changer for about a year . I think it made the experience feel somewhat retro -- almost like driving a former car that I missed . But then theres that acceleration .. nothing compares to it . I suppose I had gotten spoiled to the high Hp Turbo and once back in the seat again I realized how much juice the car has .

I am going to drive it a few more days like a DD .I am really enjoying this. By then I will miss the PDK car .

You are a lucky man, Larry.

Fortunately for me I never have to drive anything else to appreciate my 911, which is good because I have nothing else to drive!

Get a Tooki for Blue Tooth, and a Dension for iPod connection. They both work very well.

And Eric at BumperPlugs is doing a special pre-order sale, too. Send him a note to get on the list.

Thanks very much for the suggestions and I will ask about these items .The parts specialist who originally helped me put together my car is back on the project with my Turbo as of yesterday. He knows I am picky with my cars. I need the ipod to operate through the PCM , have no static and have reasonable updates . In short I told him were "i'll continue to wait but when we make the upgrade it has to be the right upgrade" . That's been my feeling with the Turbo all along . Since the car isn't usually my DD the Cd's and headset are minor inconveniences .

Thank you and I want to extend that to the all those on the thread who are rolling with my return to the Turbo .

I had parked it after it was Chino detailed . It was so clean that I didn't want to drive it for almost a month. it's not clean anymore so I am rolling it out for a few more drives.

Patrick (Iamhollywood) -- let's set up an evening photo shoot. I need a few days notice to make sure both are clean .

if you miss bluetooth and ipod - why not to install dension or mobridge? it is not difficult nor expensive.

Both of these products integrate through the factory PCM. The iPod hook up works like the CD changer, and the Blue Tooth uses the PCM phone buttons. You should see if a there is a dealer that can give you a demonstration.
