From the day I first saw 997 I have always wondered how the next generation would look like, because I felt that they made the perfect 911 with the 997.

Hope it doesn't get too funky or übermodern, like they tried with the 996.

I'd take the 997 over that.

without knowing the source, it's hard to consider renderings credible. the doors are identical to a 997, save for the side-view mirrors. It looks a little too similar to be the successor to the 997, although I do like it a lot.

I especially like the way the front fenders are shaped and how they flow over the wheels. Overall, I hope the successor to the 997 is nothing radically different.

Too busy looking - not real clean, especially the rear! Do an update of the 993 with wide hips and you have perfection!!!

The 911 design is all about evolution preserving its core traits. The pics above show a departure from that, depicting a more etched form with creases and folds. Not a good evolution.

I looked at the Panamera for months in advance questioning its apperance and after driving one I found the car amazing. The car even looked better after it drove so good .

I'll reserve my opinion on the 991 until after I drive the car .

Won't it be fun to pay the out of warranty cost of that spoiler repair!! Let's see who drives with that spoiler up all the time...
The renderings look far from a final design. Without huge innovation in power, hardly seems worthwhile to consider one over a 997. I've often wondered if Porsche should just leave the 911 and focus on making a supercar out of the Cayman. Anyway, what comes next? The 911S will have over 400 hp?

looks like independent drawings.. and not official. porsche might release the panamera ass end, but never a 911 end like that.

No revolution, just continued evolution...

I like it!

I hear the C2 will be bumped up to 360hp and the S to approx 400hp...

The 2010 is the 46 year of the 911, why would they stop when people like us continue to buy them? Porsche designed and built the 928 with the intention it would replace he 911, the Cayman is better balanced and less money, yet the 911 makes up more then 1/2 there sales. Unless the new owners (VW) want to kill it to spite the families, I don't see it happening until people stop buying them.

Too many straight lines in the front and the rear compare to the natural curves of the 911 ....

The rear makes me cringe....gives me the same impression I had when I saw the back end of the latest generation M3.

I do like the front and where the side mirrors are. But that back is ugly along with that spoiler. Should just stay w the 997 or 993 back put some nice LEDs, but make the hips curvy and wider. And lets put 430hp into a S model

heres a link I found talking about the CODENAME 991 haha. Few things I noticed HP goes up but Trq down and the S will be a Base 991 and the RS will be the S of the 997 but RS of the 991. Plus a 3.4 Liter. Should be interesting
