Looks spectacular!

Do you mind sharing who makes the carbon bit on the steering wheel and the cost?

Thanks!

DBCarbon. 800 delivered. They also sell paddles--I passed on them.

However great and justified the temptation, please don't judge.

You get the part you see. It screws into what I call the wheel hub, which is the plastic housing that the airbag sits in and also contains the framework onto which each of the three little "windows" on the spokes is secured. If you ever get the urge, PM me, as making the change can be pretty trying, and I can give you some tips that will make it easier and provide you some peace of mind. It's really the best CF mod in my car's interior.

Fantastic trim piece, makes it look like a new wheel - well I guess it costs almost as much as a new wheel ;-).

Care to post a diy on the change? I'm guessing the easiest thing is to disconnect the battery, pull the airbag and pull the wheel. I really don't like the aluminum look, this is a great mod.

Actually it was a brand new wheel, replaced the same day under warranty. Then I commenced to take it apart.

Here is a link to a thread where I gave some direction:

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-do-you-3.html

Here's is a picture of the original part that I removed in order to make room for the CF bit, and a pic of it attached to the plastic portion of the wheel hub. This entire unit is what you pry from the actual steering wheel. The decorative trim piece is attached with a number of tiny torx screws.

Feel free to PM me if you tackle this job. I always make mistakes my first time, so I can definitely help you avoid them.

My contribution to an old thread. It's still a work in progress, with an alcantara e-brake handle, SSK w/ MOMO shift ****, LED lighting, yellow seat belts, yellow-trimmed floor mats, thick perforated leather steering wheel with yellow center marker, and yellow trapezoid door trim.
