997 Sport Classic in the USA

You guys see this? Anyone know how you can bring this car here? Would be cool if Porsche would offer a special US edition!

USA often gets overlooked for special cars. We tend to have all sorts of restrictions that other countries do not. I remeber from my time with Subaru that many special, or even STi version of other models, are not sent to the great USA.

I don't think this had anything to do with restrictions as the engine is the same as a 997 with a powerkit right? I think all they have to do is add the USA bumperrettes on the rear and the car would be good to go for USA specs. The price is another story!

Yes he had to register it as a show car and is only allowed to drive it a specific amount of miles. This thing must have cost a fortune to bring in!!!

140,000 British pounds sterling = 217,378.0000 US dollars

And no it would not be Jay Leno's. Maybe Jerry Seinfeld but more likely just a no name with tons of money.

It is just not one…

No double bubble roof
No X51 power kit
Wrong exhaust
No PCCB
Exterior color is wrong
Wrong rear bumper
Should not have bumpetts
Should not have front fender flairs
Bottom mirror stays should be black
Guess that the gauges are not from the classic
Although close, not all of the interior bits are right (ie door pulls and shifter)
Seats are wrong in both style and material
No number plate (but because it is not one it cannot have one)
That is a 4S and it is a 2S in a wide body
No Custom Sport Classic exhaust (due to wrong exhaust)

I am sure there is more that I can’t pick out real quick.

EDIT: SORRY CHAMPION FOR PICKING APART YOUR CAR

The car belongs to someone here in Houston who also has other very special cars such as a CGT for example. It is registered as a show car and is a delight to have in my town. I will post pics of it once it is ready tp show.
