Hi guys,

Introducing myself.
Just finally able to picked up '06 997.1 C4S 6MT with 30k miles on it.
The last time I had a Porsche was in 2007, and it was 1992 964 C2 5MT.
Since I sold it, I regretted everyday in my life.
So, after a few BMW's, I have decided to find another Porsche.
I was shopping around on the 964's and 993's, but the price are way over my budget or no one selling a MT Coupe.
So I routed for the newer water-cooled. No offense to 996 owners, but I don't like it at all.
I test drove 997 and 991, even though 991 is all pretty, I don't get the feel of driving the Porsche unlike the 997. The 997 still reminds me of the older 911.
That's when I started to look around, starting from C2, C2S, then after reading some more, feel in love with the C4S wide body and the 3.8 motor.
Now, I am in the process of modding the car. I don't want to butcher up the car (at least not anytime soon).
I was thinking to start with muffler bypass and X-pipe, then plenum and CAI.
Let me know if you guys have more ideas on the mod, I have been out from PCar community.

 

Can you tell us more about the car? Options, color, pics?

Congrats. I too have an '06 997.1 C4S 6MT. LED lights would update the car, IMHO.

 

Easiest and cheapest upgrade are clear side marker light. They also add about 78 more HP😃

Yea, debating on the LED taillight.
If I'm doing it, I might do a whole facelift with the aerokit.

 

That X51 shifter you have is SO hard to find, i had one on my last 997S i miraculously found on ebay once, sadly i had wrecked that car and sold that shifter and aluminum hand brake i also had...now i have the same car and would LOVE to find those parts again

 

Wow, I guess I am one lucky person to find this.
I didn't even know what option does the shifter comes with. But, I love it compares to the regular one.

 

That shifter is a miracle to find, if you want to buy it alone its almost $1000 then there is a kit for $1400 shifter and hand brake. i was lucky when i found the ones i did, i think i paid $400 shifter and $250 hand brake, will never find again probably

Wheels spacers seem very popular and fairly cheap. That seems to go hand in hand with lowered springs. Anyone have a photo of 997 with spacers but not lowered?
