TPC Racing : NE Premiere installer Automobile Associates builds a Turbo 4.0L 2005 C2S

Nothing gives me greater joy(in my professional career) than to be able to recommend a fantastic installer that not only sells a lot of our parts but also services our systems and stands behind them. Automobile Associates of Canton, CT is one of those shops. They have installed over 20 of TPC Racing's Forced Inductions systems to a variety of Porsche platforms.

Their latest build was for a special client that wanted more... a lot more! This client had one of our early 997 SC systems installed on their C2S Cabriolet. 400whp wasnt enough... So AA upped the ante and built a fantastic car... perhaps the highest hp narrow body M97 ever. A fully built 4.0L engine with our turbo system.

And a quick ride along video displaying the dual nature of the car...!

Wow...what an awesome build!
I am going to ask...what does it cost to turn our cars into a 4L?
Also, there has been lots of discussions on our fuel systems when adding this much power! Can you confirm IF the fuel system was upgraded and if so,what they did to do so?

Again AWESOME work guys!

We have and I hate myself for ever selling the supercharger.....and this would make more power than the charger..........
Two things are stopping me right now.......money(and TPC/Casey have twisted my arm pretty good,LOL) and our NEW laws for speeding!

40km/h or 24 mph over the posted speed limit and you lose your car for at least a week, pay for the tow to the impoundment lot and storage on that, never mind the HUGE fines and court!
Faster than that and they will seize your car and auction it off........YES they have done it already to a Ferrari and BMW!
CRAZY.....

BUT YES this TPC turbo keeps me on the edge of my seat to send them my credit card number,LOL!
Especially since my turbo bumper is sitting here in Vancouver!
Lets just say you never know........

All of a sudden my $1300/mo. health care premium doesn't sound so bad.

BTW, fantastic sounding 4.0 project!

Over 500HP/ 400TQ at the wheels sounds great.
Can this block handle 8 psi boost from 3,500RPM upward? It would seem that there is a lot of stress on the engine, almost all the time, as compared to an SC which only hits peak boost at WOT and redline, but is progressive.

Eager to learn more, it's always interesting. Boring out to 4.0L or more would be interesting. Does the lower compression ration allow for safer conditions under which to run greater boost?

I AM NO EXPERT ON THIS BUT......
My understanding IS that this car made 512 or so RWHP......so around 583-593 HP at the crank using a 14-16% drivetrain loss?!

What allows these guys to run more boost IS the lower compression and the fact that they machined the block for steel sleeves(stronger).....which allowed them to bore it out to the 4.0L.Also I believe, that this 4.0L motor and our 3.8L motors BOTH have forged pistons(a definite plus for boost)!
BUT remember lowering compression comes with the loss of some power....BUT they do make up for it with a bigger litre motor and more boost(due to the fact that they made the cylinder walls stronger with steel sleeves)!

To get to this point is TRULY an amazing accomplishment for Automobile Associates.......and TPC!

The 500 RWHP mark HAS BEEN conquered.....finally!

Congrats to these two shops for doing so....I so wanted to be the first(when I had my charger) and I am green with envy!

Stacy

PS...Looking at that opened up motor with the steel sleeves and NEW pistons........makes me want to get with the wife (if you know what I mean)...GOTTA GO!
