hood latch dead battery
Is there a hidden latch or something that allows one to unlatch the hood on an '06 997 without using a battery jump? I'm new to the world of Porsche and am a little surprised by this design issue.
Thanks

There's a manual release behind the drivers front wheel. You have to remove some plastic shrouding in the wheel well once you get the wheel off. You will see a small metal cable that can be pulled to release the trunk.(not my words but hope this answers your question)

Use the fuse panel approach. Takes less than 2 minutes once you know it it there (and yes - I have experience - 3 days into my 'new to me' 06 C4S)

odd ...looking at my fusebox? not seeing the option - see the pics, where is this??
there will be a red plastic contact with an icon of the front hood in the open position
disclaimer: I am out of the country and attempting to assist my partner in getting the trunk open so she can jump the car
thanks

The secret is to treat your battery like your tires.
Make sure you keep the correct water level in the battery (correct air pressure in tire).
Remember to turn your lights off (keep the nails out of the tires).
Replace your battery before it's dead (cords are showing).
