How to install a DRL module = EASY!

that is not true. you can turn fog lights on at one position before it turns on headbeams. i do it all the time.

If you install the DRL module, which is really easy, you will get true DRL functionality i.e. the bottom row of LED's will turn on automatically every time you start your car with no other lights (sidemarker, etc). That will make the front look like the 997.2 with the LED DRL's on. They will stay on until you turn your Park or headlights on, then they turn off. If you have your headlights on and you turn your foglights on, the bottom row of LED's will illuminate.
You can even install the DRL module and use it with your OEM halogen foglights as long as you install a 5a fuse in place of the 3a fuse that comes in the module from the factory. I did that to test the install first, then I replaced the halogen bulbs with LED bulbs and they look great. The module should also work fine with the new LED front light which should look even better.

Yes, but then you also have all sidemarker and rear tail lamps lit. Everything else in his statement is correct. True USA style DRL functionality is with the front foglights automatically lit with no other lights illuminated.

Thanks to the help from TT2911, I ordered and installed the module, as well as LED bulbs in my fog lights. Now, when I start the motor, only the fogs (now DRL's) come on. When I turn on the parking or headlights, the DRL's turn off, and when I turn the switch to the fog position, the DRL's come back on. Perfect DRL functionality IMO.

scottkim,
Really, you can do this! Give it a try. It's quite simple. Just follow TT2911's directions and you'll be fine. Maybe TT2911 will be kind enough to do a video DIY ?

gave Rep points TT2911, thanks!
Could you please post picture of the TFLM03 that you used and is needed in US markets for making the LED DRL function as a daytime running light.
Specifically pictures of installing TFLM03 module and wiring to battery, need for (2 or 3 ?) T connectors?
Thanks again!

dectane module
on a post i saw that if you place the maintainer /charger on the car it will cause the module to make the fogs flicker. consequently you cannot charge the car with the module hocked up, i guess you could put a switch on the module.

TT2911 had a great suggestion to just put a disconnect on the positive wire or a switch would probably work too. That's what I plan on doing.
i'm also curious to see how the DRL module works with cars that have the RemoteKey or SmartTop installed? Anyone have both installed?

Can someone post an instructional video of how to do this DRL module like Dectane did for the tail light install? I'm not a very mechanical/electrical kind of guy so if it's that simple, then I will do it. TIA.....

If you're not a mechanical/electrical kind of guy, I'd suggest getting someone to do it for you. It isn't that difficult, but it does require some ability to take things apart in the trunk area so the wires can be routed properly. Also, on mine, to access the wiring grommet between the area I installed the module (above nav unit) and the battery, I had to remove some other stuff. So I spent more time getting access to run wires etc. than actually making connections.
