PCCB's HELP. Frustrated
So, it appears that I have my left rear caliper hanging up on my 05 Launch Carrera S. Has anyone seen this before with these cars? Indy removed the caliper, reloaded the cylinder and there was no issue. It seems like its definitely hung. Put back on the car it spins freely, but apply the brakes and it doesn't change a thing. Also, We just replaced the brake fluid. Any thoughts?

Not sure what you are saying,,,, you apply brakes and they don t work or they stick?
If they don't work maybe you have air in that caliper or a bad caliper still and if they still get hung up then you have a bad caliper.
Don t know the specific s on an 05 but could there be an issue with a sensor (ABS etc) on that wheel?

It is the back left rear only. The brake is grabbing. It stops fine, but when the car is in the air, the back left wheel does not spin freely. You can clearly smell the brake after driving it, so i am wondering if it is caliper related. If it had to do with master, wouldn't it have been rectified with fluid change?

I have rebuilt calipers to know that the pistons can get rusted.
Have you guys bled that one recently? I also going to assume that your Indy has guaranteed that your system was bled correctly and no air in the system. FYI, --- the rear left is the farthest from the reservoir and that should be bled first.
Yours is a 2005 and you may not have rust in the piston. However, if it were me, I would try to rebuild that particular one first and see. Rebuilding should be pretty easy, but don't listen to me as I have done it many times.
At this point, the rebuild kit should be cheaper than your pads, rotors, safety, etc.
At least you would have a newly rebuilt caliper if the issue turns out to be different.
Good luck and let us know.
