Salavage title - would you buy?
Has anyone ever purchased a car with a salvage title (that was completely redoned - correctly)? If so, how much less would you expect to pay?
Looking a 997.2 that was supposedly side swiped and fixed back to as new.

Unless you are an expert or have a trusted one by your side do NOT attempt to purchase such a vehicle.
"Supposedly side swipe..." - ask to see the adjuster's damage report and the protocol of frame measurements and all/any documentation of repairs. A correctly repaired vehicle will have all that documentation available. If not, then run!

Read up on counterfeit airbags out of China. They look just like the real thing but are very inexpensive compared to OEM. If they deploy, odds are you'll get a bunch of metal shrapnel blown into your face. What are the odds of a salvage title car with one of these airbags in them? Pretty good, methinks.
Walk away.

How do you know it repaired correct? I am second to that frame damage, anyone can slap a quarter panels on and respray paint but frame restruture can be very expensive. If you are a true 911 enthusiast, I wouldn't want to touch anything salvage. RUN FAST.....

Why would anyone want a salvaged car -- in this case one that suffered enough severe chassis/tub damage to warrant a salvage classification -- for even a track car?
The chassis/tub even if put straight would have lost some of its strength and at the track is where this really is needed.
Salvage cars are good for only one thing. Parts picking.

I have owned/purchased salvage vehicles before. Rules to follow...I.M.O.
Never buy a repaired car....if you want to go this route pick it up directly from the insurance auctions and have the repairs done to your spec/liking. This is near impossible unless you have a good body shop that you can trust.
Secondly...just know that you will have a very hard time selling this car down the road. If you plan on buying and keeping for like then ok...if you plan on flipping down the road then know you will be taking a SUBSTANTIAL hit to sell it.
