parking brake adjustment?

parking brake adjustment?
What can you guys tell me about adjusting the parking brake? Is there a way to test it?
What happened was I parked the car on a hill, pulled the e brake and let my foot off the brake before putting it in gear (6 speed) and the car started to roll. So I later tested it and unless I pull the brake up every last inch(or very hard may be a better description) that it will go it seems that its not fully engaged.
Or is that normal? Did a search but couldn t find a link and I was surprised . Thanks

Honestly cerbo, I think all euro cars are like that. Seriously don't understand why. IV had more than a dozen mercs and a few bmw's and most, as I remember, needed more than its share of a tug to engage the parking brake. So unlike ones on Japanese cars, that you simply engage and that's it. No fuss. And the Japanese cars don't move a single inch after engagement....just from my experience. Maybe it's a function of whether a car has disc or drum at the back.

O, mine takes like 6 clicks and must be all the way at the top. Now I need to find out how to adjust? Thanks.

Just to be clear, my 2 clicks reference means "additional clicks" to make the car not roll on 15 degree incline. I can count total clicks from handbrake lever "off" position if you want.

I just came back from the car.
When I go to my parent's house and park at the very steep incline, my total clicks is about 7 clicks.
NOTE: Number of clicks does not equate to the condition of the ebrake. The clicks are generated by the "teeth and the locking mechanism."
Here is mine set to "maximum" ebrake for steep incline; I have the ebrake and window frame taken as an angle reference point. If yours is any higher, then you might need to investigate your ebrake.

update/ The above directions are the same on the 997.2 .
I confirmed this with my dealer tech.
As far as my light being out, the dealer said it s not regulated by the rear pads/adjustment but it is a switch in the console and it goes bad very often.
Thanks, With the help of CAB83 (diagram) I posted again so it can go in the DIY section .
