Gold doesn't look too bad.

Black or grey looks the best though.

Silver doesn't belong on red cars. IMO

Simon, I like your look the best, black with red pinstripe. I think that set up would look very good on guards red also.

Mind you, I have stock rims on my 2012 (997) 4s cab. yeah, their Ok, whatever!! lol

Thanks for all the great answers!

I am currently deciding between charcoal gray and black with polished lip.

That's exactly how I felt and I used to be a black wheel hater. But until I was playing around with it a few years ago with Photoshop and finally did my first black wheel with pin-stripe on my other car. I haven't gone back since

Nowadays you can try it out with Plastic-dip first. Completely reversible.

I think black looks sharp and clean like a tuxedo although no complaints if I drove your cars. On it's own I feel it makes its contrasts with the parts that aren't easily changed (brake calipers and lights). Red would do the best match with black. Gold reminds me of a Subaru or my very own G35 that I owned but get what you like.

White if you want to really stand out.

My car is GR and I have the Carrera Sport wheels in GT silver which is darker.
It hides the brake dust nicer than the bright silver.
But cant say the wheels stand out in any way.

I prefer black with the polished lip also. Just personal preference, but to me the polished lip on the black wheel makes a big difference and gives a little separation between the tire and wheel so that you don't have the appearance of the tire and wheel being just one piece.

Black wheels have been so over done. Gunmetal Gray would look good in a red car.
