Carrera S III Wheels

Has anyone ever put 20" Carrera S III Wheels on a 997? I recently saw these wheels at the dealer on a 991 and liked them a lot. I am researching to see if they would fit but was wondering if anyone had tried these wheels out before on their 997.

Check out Wheel Enhancement's website. They have a photo of those wheels in black mounted on a red 997.2.

do you know what the 20" wheel offsets are? i could help determine the fitment with the info.

wheels would look stunning on 997 imo.

Yes I agree which is why I am looking at them, you have to see these in person they are so much better than the picture.

Front Wheel: Part #: 991-362-161-30 Size: 8.5x 20" Offset: 51mm
Rear Wheel: Part #: 991-362-166-30 Size: 11.0x 20" Offset: 70mm

I think it even comes in a 9.5x 20", not sure if 11 would be too wide in a 20"

Compared to a 997.1 NB Carrera S II using: http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator#

Fronts:
S II: 8x19 ET57
S III: 8.5x20 ET51
Inner clearance is the same, outer position extends an extra 12mm. This fits but is an aggressive offset. Many ppl use 7mm spacers up front on the 997 series cars. These wheels have a "built in" 12mm spacer due to the extra width and lower offset.

Rears:
S II: 11x19 ET67
S III: 11x20 ET70
Inner clearance is 3mm less, outer position retracts by 3mm. These will fit as is on a NB car. But with the fronts pushed out, the overall look on the car would be funny without spacers in the rear. 15mm rear spacers are recommended to complete the look. WB cars would need a 30mm spacers.

TL;DR: rears match very close to NB fitment, fronts are pushed out 12mm. To match the front flush look a NB needs a 15mm rear spacer, WB needs a 30mm rear spacer.

.

it should fit pretty much flush in the front (aggressive) but not protrude past the fender. (i know some guys running oem turbo II wheels - 8.5x19et 56) + 5mm spacer. it's pretty much exactly the same effective offset as the oem 20 inch wheel you have listed above.

as for the rears that's VERY conservative, you can easily go 15mm spacer in the back if not 20mm if you want a flush rear fitment.

this is all assuming oem suspension of course.

Reviving an old thread as I like these wheels as well. I'm wondering what the setup is (11" on rears & 8.5" on front?) and if spacers are needed for a flush look?

I love the stance and wheels on rs_t picture above.

Its really hard to tell in the picture how flush it really is, a different angle is needed.

I do not know what the setup is in the picture, but if you look at semicycler and myw's posting they will fit with a set of spacers for the rear. The fronts were what I was really worried about to make sure it doesn't go past the fender, flush is great but not past. I have yet to take a look at the Cayman set that looks exactly the same as it might have a different offset, not sure but something to look at.

Found the Cayman specs, not sure if the fronts might fit better vs Carrera

Rear Wheel: Part #: 981-362-163-12Size 9.5x20” Offset: 45mm

Carrera:

Front Wheel: Part #: 991-362-161-30 Size: 8.5x 20" Offset: 51mm
Rear Wheel: Part #: 991-362-166-30 Size: 11.0x 20" Offset: 70mm

Why no center cap on the fronts?
