Need help picking a 997

I've narrowed 3 cars down in my search for a 997. My few requirements is I wanted the car located within reason. This is because I feel the need to see it in person myself first. My other "must" was it have the factory aero kit option. Otherwise I already know I'm gonna end up spending on getting a kit after the purchase.Rather not deal with that hassle. And lastly I don't want it to have more than 40 maybe 50k miles.

I found these 3 cars listed online.

http://www.porschewest.com/used/Pors...34c4284a3f.htm
2007 Carrera S
$50,982
16k miles
Black on black
Red seat belts
Red gauges
Car is local to me
Did have scratches here & there

http://www.porschewest.com/used/Pors...d8e4b86e9e.htm
2006 Carrera S
$49,999
Only 9k miles!
Black on grey.Prefer black interior but grey is livable.
Located in same dealer as car 1.The body was pretty decent just needs a detail. I don't like the wheels as much as other cars but mileage is what's really attractive.

http://www.texashotrides.com/2007-Po...no_mobile=true
2007 Carrera 4S
$55,991
28k miles
White on black
Yellow seat belts
Carbon ceramic brakes
Car is 4hrs away so I have not seen it yet but body/paint looks spotless.

Are these priced correctly? Anything I should know about them? Definitely wanted to keep it around 50k so the 3rd car is pushing it. However it does have the PCCB I just don't know if pricing is right in general.

Look at the third and test drive all - they won't want you to leave so tell them your budget or walk - also unless you plan on this being your collectors item I would not worry about less miles -

Think I'm gonna go check out the 3rd one today. My concern about the miles is only because I know I'll want to upgrade in a year or 2 and a car with "higher" miles is a harder sale.I drive my cars/bikes as much as I can.A 07 car with even 70k miles is nothing but in higher end car talk it's a big deal.

911 pricing to me is so weird.I guess since there's so many variations of each you can have a same year car be $10-15k less sometimes.I found local 2011 for 58k.So 4 years newer but it doesn't appeal to me that much.

rickdogg82 will become famous soon enough
From my brief time as a 911 owner and visitor of the web forums dedicated to them, maintenance history and vehicle condition (including DME report) seem to be the most important factors when considering a car. If you re-sell your car down the line the mileage will not make it hard to sell - incomplete service records/history and/or poor condition will.

Ah ok , is this something that can be bought separate I assume?

Btw white car has a deposit already so going to investigate the first 2 choices.

If it helps on price, I almost pulled the trigger on a 2007 Carrera S with 17K miles on it for 44,900. Jaguar Dealership in Dallas, not CPO'd....That was after some haggling. I ended up going for a 997.2 instead, but was a clean car.

The first two are located at the same place and seem to be priced accordingly. I would see what they can do about the scratches on the first one, if you prefer the wheels and interior color. They both have less than 20k miles so one having 9k vs 16k doesn't make a lot of difference to me. You can change the wheels on the second one but a gray interior is a gray interior. Definitely make sure the service history checks out on whichever you decide to buy. Unless you're made of money or plan to put very very low miles on your car, I'd think twice about cars with the PCCB option; even switching to Brembo steel rotors is pricey relative to the OEM rotors. I assume that folks buying secondhand Porsches (like myself) probably don't have the same budget as those who bought them new.

First post here, but many years buying and selling sports cars. I am picking up a 2005 C2S at a dealer in CT this Thursday; it was the color, condition, mileage, options and price that I wanted. Been looking online since December but only really had time to view this one car and was quite impressed with it; Silver/Black one owner, 40k, all service done at the dealer; paying $39,500. It will complement my 2003 Audi RS6 nicely, I think!

Best of luck and happy hunting

I would take the first car IF PPI and DME check out. Cars with 6-7-8 years old must have some rock chips and nicks as long as paint in good condition. For another $500-1000 you can fully detail and make it look like new again. Then using the missing front lip as leverage and negotiate it down to $47-$48k, you have an excellent car with all the right options.

Pick the COLOR YOU WANT with the OPTIONS YOU WANT! 16k miles or 9k miles is the same in my opinion, both are super low miles, so your good!

The aerokit is very expensive, and if you want one, and you end up buying the parts yourself even if aftermarket replicas its a hassle and a headache to paint, wait etc etc..i like that black one! as another poster noted its missing the front lip

07- most likely have the larger IMS bearing
06- you should ask for the engine number and double check to see if it has the small bearing or the larger bearing.

Something to think about.

Both #1 and #2 just dropped to $48,992 and $47,992.

The #3 car has officially been sold so that is out of the pic.I'm waiting on my bank now to finalize an approval. They take soooo long even if I call them every hour. It's annoying since I got an approval during xmas time with 1.8% apr.I know im gonna pass just hurry up! I hope the unlisted car I want doesn't sell in the meantime. If it does i'll be back to the first choices. Thanks everyone for your insights.

Guys here's a noob question but the "clock" in middle of dash is it supposed to be on all the time? I'm closing in on the 1st car. I finally went to test drive it and I like it.I did notice that piece not working though and sales guy didn't know about it....or said he didn't.

Alleykat. The clock you r referring to is a stop watch. It's part of the sports chrono package.
