I have the Bwoody CAI so far. It's good for up to a 18hp gain and 2-3mpg increase....that is if you can keep you foot out of it.

I am waiting for the 2008 Trinity or Predator to come out...both by Diablosport.

Kooks headers and Borla S and 180 T-stat are next on the list.

Here's my list....

Engine/trans...

HHP Stage II kit (heads, cam, headers, ported intake, 2800 stall)
BWoody intake
180 t-stat
Borla S (soon to be replaced by a better system)
Renntech built transmission

Exterior/other...

HID fogs
BWoody sway links
BWoody SS brake lines
Dashawk computer
Flushed out side moldings
Tinted tails

I should be up about 150 hp/tq with those mods. I will hit the dyno in the spring to see for sure.

I am specifically interested in attaining better gas milage.

Has anyone confirmed a mod that truly improves milage?

What hwy milage are people seeing? (say at 70 mph)

Here's the 411...

I had an 08, it dyno'd 380/377 with Bwoody 3.5 intake/Res. Delete....I started the Tuning process....Custom CMR Dyno Tune-399/388...

The car was a beast. I loved the "perks"...
-Bluetooth
-DC Outlet
-40 Gig Hard Drive
-Rear View Camera
-RES
-3000 Stall
-MB AMG Tranny
-German Heads
-Brembo's
-Bilstein's
-6.1 Hemi

ALL OF THIS IN A Off Road Jeep...which I did take to my ranch every weekend!

I love the car. It was VERY fast 0-80...I think my 0-60 (at full stall) was 3.5ish....

BUT- Horrible MPG
-Ate Tires
-Transfer Case sucked
-It was still a Jeep.....

It was my first Jeep product, I wasn't very happy with the Customer Service that "Jeep" had to offer. Otherwise, when or If I buy another one, it will be turned into a OFF ROAD MONSTER....

08 and up only FYI, I can't stand the 06-07 Interiors....

Good Luck, the guys on Cherokeesrt8.com will answer any questions....

-Adam

A 6th gear would do wonders. I've heard that some of the basic mods help (intake, tune) but you're only going to get a few more mpg. I think your best bet is just accepting the fact that it sucks gas like none other.

The Jeep's are the best SRT8 models to modify as the all wheel really allows the power to be put to the ground.

Basic mods that really help are a CAI, Cat Back and Program. The biggest bang for the buck is the Vortech SC system (about 150hp gain).

Another nice upgrade is a spring kit and the Stoptech 4 wheel brake kit.

We are one of the few shops with an AWD Dynapack dyno and full tuning capability for the SRT line.

150hp gain to all 4 wheels should feel pretty healthy

Thanks,

I wanted to know this info and will now verify myself as I just bought
an 07 with 2600 miles.

MK

I will keep it stock unless something would improve the milage substantially

What about Cat removal?

Cai on srt would be best

I had a srt that was supercharged lousy mileage but one hell of a car! I then removed the supercharger and did heads/cam/and custom tune, much more low end torque but mileage down the tubes. Best bet is CAI and diablo tuner and leave the rest alone. Vic
