I'm not sure where you got the idea to say STD don't mean jack. STD and SAE come from the same organization! STD was designated as the standard correction factor based on SAE J607. Engine horsepower and torque are usually corrected to a SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) standard. The corrected horsepower and torque numbers offer an accurate basis for comparing engine dynamometer tests on different dates, different engines, or in different areas of the world . There are many SAE standards. Correction standard SAE J607 is most commonly used in the racing world. It results in approximately 4% higher corrected hp and torque numbers than SAE J1349. J1349 uses a friction hp number in its correction. The friction hp is tested by "motoring" the test engine on a dyno. Most dynos cannot motor engines and so a standard friction percentage is used. At SAE J1349 ratings it makes about 8-10HP less. Not really a big difference to be making it a point to argue about. Especially if we are talking 4 digit HP numbers. Some of this information is from our dyno manual.

Moving on... Quick drive clip. It was pretty fun, it spins out in 1st to 3rd gear.
SAE is the ONLY way to compare numbers. As I said before. If you don't use a correction factor there is no way to compare numbers on the same dyno or a different one. STD numbers really don't have any accuracy, SAE is what everyone uses. It's for a reason. Feel free to keep using STD numbers....I'm just telling you how it is. No harm done.
Bad a$$ car! Forget the haters! They are just jealous! This car will rip them a new a$$hole in their V8 mullet cars and they know it. Probably gets better gas mileage too. rofl They have to complain about sae std or whatever just to downplay it makes tremendous power. Lets see those v8 dyno numbers please.

Kdubb yes Justin. I'm sure you know who he is and his skills so you know this Camaro is serious when we hired him.
I know this Camaro is suppose to be controversial, but can we all get along? This is about the car not what is suppose to be the standard is measuring HP. I don't agree with Sinster that SAE J1349 is the standard measurement of HP because it is not. SAE J607 is widely accepted around the world. Maybe not his world. You can say all you want, the difference in HP is like 10 so it doesn't matter to me if you see this car as 1,015-1,020HP and we see it as 1,029HP because its not a big deal. But you like to make everything a big deal when I post anything about this car. Let's try to get along.
Seems obvious I'm ignoring you don't it? lol You and one other poster here love to crap and troll on my threads. I've read your other posts regarding other domestic V8 cars and you don't troll on anyone else. You obviously a bias user and it really shows. Your like a automobile racist! lol Nothing you post just like the other guy is ever constructive. Have a nice day.

LOL who are you and why are you here?? This isn't the Streetfire comment section, grow up.
The interior of that car is sweet BTW!

Thanks for keeping track of me. I am flattered.
I think I have been fair with my comments and questions. Am I REQUIRED to love your car or something?
I am pretty open-minded actually, thankyouverymuch. Am I not allowed to ask questions in your precious thread unless I bow down to this car first?
I just asked a technical question and not even questioning the numbers of your car. Geez...
Maybe I am just annoyed that the American Muscle section of this site is pretty damn weak....

Not keeping track of you! lol You show up in all my threads about this car!
Well this forum is a Porsche forum. This section is only an added bonus to this site. If you want all domestic go to protouring.com they'll have plenty of what you are looking for. I know your intentions and its obvious. So its better you don't ask anymore. Nobody asked you to love this car, but its rather annoying you get in on every thread of mine about this car. You don't see me have any interest in your thread about your Camaro. Maybe you should leave this alone as I have left your car alone. Geez... (giving you the same response back thats all)
If you really are that technical maybe you should buy one from us and you will get all the details.
