I am trying to dig them up for you, I saw at least two at the last Viper get together. Don't know if they were home made of off the shelf but it looks like a super easy problem to solve. Heck if i get one of the cars I bid on I might just throw something together on the bridgeport and see if I can get it to work.

I would say the viper. And if you could save up for a Gen 4. The prices are falling way down.

i own a C6 Z06. before i had a supercharged C5 Z06 with 610whp. during that time I drove a paxton supercharged 06 SRT10 Viper Coupe. That thing was sick. It "felt" a ton faster than my supercharged c5z. The interior was kinda crappy, very very poor visibility, and the cabin got very hot. But the car was badass. Thats the only way I could hop into a viper, if it was forced induction.

I went for the C6Z for several reasons. Stock for stock, the C6Z tramples the pre2008 viper. and yes mods this mods that, you can make it equal. I love stock. My 08 Z06 (which I got for 46k with 20k miles) has a factory 5 year/100k mile warranty. My C5Z had a forged motor, blower, straight pipes, etc. It was a beast. But the more mods, the more little things you have to worry about. I have been 100% content with the C6Z's power and feel in stock form. I daily drive it.

Another reason was the following. As I said, a SUPERCHARGED Viper was the only way I'd go. But if you pop a viper motor, its going to be 10 to 12 grand easy just for the motor. You could supercharged the vette for the same price as supercharging the viper, and trample the viper, and if you blow your motor, will cost you half.

Do I plan to own a supercharged or TT viper in my life, hell yes. But for right now, I wanted something I could hop into everyday, be well respected, with a warranty, that still killed most stuff on the street.

Viper. Hands down, no if ands or buts.

C6Z is an amazing car. But I see 10 of them a day. And 50 of them at car shows every week.

That pretty much seals the deal for me. I don't have endless money. I don't aim to please others with looks. But if I'm going to spend $40K+ on a car, I want something desirable, that not many other people can say they have. I'd rather be exclusive, and deal with being beat by a couple of tenths on track.

...true but, why not make it different? Different wheels alone will set a Z06 off. Personally, I live in south florida, I see everything, everyday lol.

Putting wheels on a Z06 doesn't make them any less rare or more exclusive. I have a set of $9K HRE wheels on my Z06, but most people cannot tell it apart from a base C6. It just isn't in the cards for any Corvette to be regarded as something unique or special on the roads. They are too common. But, that was the reason I bought mine, because it was so common. They make for a fun and fast car that you can still park at the mall and leave unattended. I've never come outside and saw face/hand prints on the side window of my Corvettes. The Viper gets molested if I leave it unattended. Kid hand prints, adult face prints, and yes even boob prints on the glass. lol

Viper does have traction control. It is called "driver skill". Learn how to drive! It also has a low power setting too, that is referred to as "low rpm". At low rpm, the engine doesn't make nearly as much power. I'm one of the guys who can appreciate NOT having electronic nannies to substitute for driver skill. If you can't handle the car, you shouldn't drive it. Old musclecars didn't have these fancy electronics...or disk brakes...lol. How did enthusiasts survive?!?!

The Viper gets far more attention, from all ages and types of people. You hear the casual "like a rockstar" phrase used often when describing cruising in a Viper. If you do not like fancy cars or attention, the Viper is not for you. I bought one because it has been a dream car of mine since the 96 GTS coupe came out. Mine is an '06 coupe.

You are right about the Viper feeling slow. For comparison, my bone stock '06 Viper went 12.0 @ 119 at the track. My bone stock '09 Z06 went 11.5 @ 125. The Z06 is much quicker stock. But, I put a Paxton and catback on my Viper, and it is nearly 700 rwhp with two simple mods.

Both cars are great, but if I had to pick between mine it would be the Viper. My Z06 is more like my fun daily driver, the Viper is my weekend toy.

best post you're going to find in this thread thus far

I was racing my GT3 cup in Atlanta this spring, Hertz tried to give me some Korean crap so I got the Corvette ZHZ instead, same colors as my Viper (yellow/black).

It was a nice rentacar but it was pretty bland, and no torque.

The Viper is a sensual car to drive, you feel it and have to think about it. Driving in the USA, it's all about torque. Sure the Vettes and newer vipers have more power up high, but none of them really beat my '01 Viper GTS by much at cruising RPMs. By the time they downshift, I'm gone

If you want to pick up groceries, get the Vette, if you want a fun car for sunny days I know what my choice would be.

Agreed. The Z06 is the better car, but the Viper is much more exclusive and it as a ton more presence.

If you are going to race the car get the Z06. If you just want to floor it on the highway every now and then and want a nice car that'll stand out, get the Viper.

Owning a modified Vette myself I think I would lean toward the Viper if we were talking about a modified Viper or 08 and newer Viper. Not too many cars on the road for the Viper's price with its presence and the ACR looks even better! I just feel like other than its road presence a stock pre 08 Viper just doesn't roll your socks up and down like a Vette does!

Also if I had 9 Ball's garage I would definitely own a Viper....a Viper isn't for the faint of heart or to go get groceries. It's purpose is to club baby seals and eat the road for lunch and not to suffer fools! So it depends if your planning on getting a Viper and having it be driven every day you should probably get the Vette. But if you have a nice luxury car or daily driver already get the Viper and don't look back!
