Kind of suprised that this has not made it over here yet. I have lurked here awhile so I decided to sign up and post. I know Scott, Divexxtreme, since we live in the same area.
Back in April Ranger and I ran my father's Stock '09 ZR1 at MIR. Ranger ran a 10.98 on drag radials and I ran 11.05 on stock tires. This past Monday we went back up to MIR for another rental and improved on our times.
We are pleased with the results but are pretty sure there is more time to be had as we get more familar with taking the car down the track. 10.7s on stock tires and 10.5s on drag radial are possible. Here is a link to full story on the day http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...stock-zr1.html ( let me know if I can't link other forums and I will remove)

Pretty damn impressive, Ranger can really row those gears.
Bet Ranger himself would tell you otherwise and say he was only making sure to hit gears on the run. That wasn't exactly what you would call rowing gears.
Great job, Neil! I'm actually more impressed with your run on the stock rubber than I am at Ranger's DR run. You need to get 60-130 runs with that car!

Was on my iPhone, so I didn't watch the vids, just read the times. After watching them I can see he didn't even powershift, so there is even more in it....
I have always been a big fan of the Corvette and still am. No wonder Ferrari never wants its' cars to go up against the Vettes in the car mag comparisons!!

As much as I love Vettes, I'd still rather a Ferrari.

Thanks, Ranger only took 3 run (hot lapped in a row) all day. Every single one was a 10.73x. He was very much the teacher that day wanting to see me get into the 10s on stock tires. There is still alot of room for improvement.
Yes, I do need to get up with you to get the P-box. We should try to shoot for some time in the next week or 2. You can give me some ideas of locations to do the runs.
Well that time did not last long. Jamie Furman took his new ZR1 to the track today and ran a best of 10.79 @ 132.21 mph bone stock tires and all. Congrats Jamie! http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...h-the-zr1.html
Congrats to all three of you.. some amazing driving.
Maybe one of you should go work for Road & Track. 11.4 my ass
Maybe I need to get me one of those....
