yeah that dude is a complete dirtbag....go to viperalley if u wanna see some stories about him.....he had a guys viper to be twin turbo'ed......long story short....hennessey had the car for 6 months.....guy kept sending him more money bc hennessey wanted more to "do it right".....guy decided to pop in to check on his car......most of his stock parts were sold.....and the rest of his car was in pieces
ya, make it more like a year, and the fact this exact scenario happened to more then one guy
It's got an extremely fast 0-60, but since 0-60 really means nothing in real world performance...that doesn't matter much.
After 60 mph it slows down quite a bit. It's about as fast a stock 996TT in the 1/4 mile (12.2 @ 115)..and from a roll, a stock 996TT would beat it badly.
It is still a cool setup despite his reputation. He is the only one that I know of with a single turbo setup on the SRT8 jeep. However ASM's supercharger is definitly more affordable! Despite everything I've read on the forums I've spoken to several people who were very happy with Hennessey's work. He does have an awesome product but for the SRT8 there are several other forced induction options.

I suppose if I HAD to have a jeep or a vehicle that needed space that would be a fun car to drive; however, with the $80k price tag, I would think again =/
I'd rather bang a fat chick than be seen driving that.... my 2 cents.

An SRT8 with 166 square inches of cargo room is definitily not enough space to bang a fat chick! You would be better off with the Trailblazer SS which has closer to 190 square inches!

Not really sure what planet you cruising around on, but in this real world, 0 - 60 means everything!!
-It is a critical factor in your 1/4 mile time
-It's extremely crucial to your 60 foot time
And lets face it .. .. .. in the "real world", 9.9 times out of 10, when you pull up to a set of lights and are going to have a little fun .. .. .. it's all over in 2 gears or less.
So, I don't know about some of the others, but if we're talking straight line performance? I'll take my modded SRT8 Cherokee, which will annihilate most any Porsche at any set of lights, any day of the week.
And if by chance we are someplace that you may be able to wind that machine up past 2nd gear .. .. .. I guess you'll win.
P.S.
Don't get me wrong now either, I'm not knocking Porsche (or your car). They are an amazing machine, surpassed by virtually none.
I'm just saying, where I live we have about ZERO places you can wind a car up to 150+, or do some serious cornering.
So, in my real world?
Everything happens between 0 - 60.
And you always race from a Dig .. .. .. not a roll.
Then again .. .. .. Maybe it's just me.
( I know the thread is a 100 years old, but I still had to comment, sorry )

Uhhmmmm, I think you may have priced out "TWO" of them bro.
A brand spankin' new Jeep SRT8 Cherokee is only $41 000 us
I had a 07 for 24 months by the 12th month it was falling apart. Its a shame that they dont build it better becasue its one hell of a car in stock form. I cant imagine it with 600hp. How reliable is the kit ? Because the car itself isn't that reliable. My transmission on it blew in within 10k miles

Weird.. I looked at buying one, and have two friends with them with no problems. One has close to 40K miles and has full bolt on's and run at the strip plenty of times. I had it for a week when he went away and kept it at my house, didn't even notice any rattles, it was solid.
