speed camera citation,, out of state driver in a rental. opinions?
Hey Guys,
So I received a notice in the mail that this processing company, ATS Processing Services, (which also seems to operate the actual cameras themselves) has charged me a $30 processing fee for a citation that I have not received. Apparently they have some deal with law enforcement and rental companies to get the ticket issued to the person who's name the rental is under.
I called ATS and they said the ticket is still being processed. (The alleged incident took place 2 months ago, Oct 24)
So, aside from the scary big-brother bs aspect of this while thing, what is the deal?
I never saw a camera or a flash, and I still have not received a citation. If and (I assume) when I receive this citation, can I fight it from out of state? Presumably there has to be some picture of me driving the car for them to actually cite me, correct?
Thanks for any input. I don't envy you guys having to deal with this on a daily basis...

yeah I see those effin cameras everywhere now in Arizona. I'd hear it's cheaper by paying the ticket and not dealing with all that hassle but I don't know... Maybe you could fight it. GL
Why fight it...It wont go against your license . Its not worth the time. If you read your rental agreement most of them state that any Tickets/citations obtained during your rental period is the responsability of the renter, regardless who is driving. Just pay it..not worth the hassle. my 2 cents
