Hi everybody, I am applying for Auto Loan when Buying a Car from an Owner. Actually I am planning to buy a used car and I wanted to get a loan for the car, but I am not interested in getting a used car from a dealer. So I wanted to buy it from an owner. In this case how should I approach a bank or lender on getting the Auto Loan? Please advice me. Thank you very much in advance.

Thumbs up Personal Loan

You should contact your personal bank (easiest) and get a pre-approval on a car you are looking for. 2nd choice would be to look for a local credit union and become a member (if you qualify) and do step one with them. 3rd would be to go to a bank (capital one) and apply for a loan directly.

Good luck!!

Dr. G Consider pentagon federal credit union... their rates are amazing (some of the best I've seen) and to qualify you don't need to be a member of the military, you simply can make a $20 donation.

Thanks Tom, I'll look into it. My wife wanted me to complete the landscaping in the front of the house before we bought the car, so I'm not sure what my new timetable will be - but I'll definitely look into it when the time comes.
