Just another data point - went to the dealer today and they quoted me 1297 in parts + 2 hours labor.

No, I have not done this yet but I was at the dealer last week and one was being installed. I walked over to speak with the tech and he said there were some software glitches. AM was working on the issue. I am sure it is all fixed by now. I can call the dealer and ask if the install was complete and if it works well.

Let us know what they say, are there any other updates other than ipod integration. Since supposively they are swapping out the whole console. My radio acts up, lowers volume when I go faster, odd. CD doesn't

O.K. I just communicated with an acquittance that had the kit installed at Lake Forest Sports Cars in Lake Bluff, IL. He said the following

"The iPod integration kit works great. You navigate through the iPod menu structure from the dash controls, newer iPods charge while in use (I've verified this with my 4th generation "Nano" and 3rd generation "Touch", and there are a full set of audio system settings specifically for the iPod.

The problem LFSC had with the install was that a new "Car Configuration File" (CCF) to activate the kit was required and Aston hadn't noted it in any of the promotion or install literature LFSC was given with the kit. The CCF needed to be downloaded from Aston to their AM diagnostic computer. Once they confirmed this their AM diagnostic computer was experiencing connectivity problems so after their "IT" guy got it connected to the network again they downloaded it and called me. I brought the car back in and everything was up and running in 20 minutes.

One other issue also arose. When you hit the "CD" button on the dash you now get to select CD or USB or iPod. The kit comes with an iPod cable but not a USB cable. They installed the iPod cable in the glove box but although there is a separate connector for a USB cable it's not in place. This isn't an issue for me but if I was to have it done again I would make sure I get a USB cable installed as well. All in all, given this was the first install in the US of the kit to my knowledge, LFSC did a great job. They didn't introduce any rattles of squeaks after taking the dash apart and removing the glove box and it appears they eliminated a rattle that I thought was in the passenger door but probably was coming from the glove box area."

I hope this helps. I am thinking of doing this in the spring! It looks real promising!

Adam

Adam, did he mention how much his all-in cost was parts + labor? Seems AM of NE has quoted me a bit higher than what was originally mentioned (1100 for parts + 2 hours labor vs. 1300 parts + 2).

Decided to pull the trigger on this - I told the guys at AM NE to call the Lake Forest first - will let you all know how it turns out...

I did not ask him what the final cost was but he did say that it cost him as he expected so I assume he was at $1100 plus the 2 hours of labor.

Please share your experiences as well.

Thanks,
Adam

When someone gets this installed, maybe they can post some pics how the display looks, and some feedback on the sound quality.

No problem - am traveling the next 8 days but I expect to have the car late next week unless something goes wrong (probably not with the ipod kit but more with my clutch issues).
