Search an old AM 6Speed thread, "Door Sills Engraving", started 3-03-2011. Includes lots of ideas including a DIY project reusing the original equipment parts.
After 6 years and 20,000 miles they are holding up well on my car, but fading a bit. In hindsight I should have applied a thin matte clearcoat (urethane, rattle can?) to the plaques when I got them back from the trophy shop.
I will try this treatment this winter to refresh them.
