oil filter new vs old PN which is right?

ORIGINAL FACTORY EQUIPMENT
OEM # 9G33-6714-AA / 9G336714AA
OLD PART # 6G43-04-10054


the old part seems to be slightly larger... Longer, which is correct?

for a Vantage V8 2006 by the way .

Both are valid part numbers for AM oil filters. The 9G33 is the black one, the 6G43 is the white one. I'm not sure if the 9G33 replaced the 6G43, but the parts diagram from AM that I'm seeing still lists the 6G43.

the black one is the new part number, but its shorter length by about .25".
is everyone using the new version now?

Last time I ordered my oil change stuff from Stuart (order placed Jan 2014), it was the white 6G43. I need to order everything again so I can change my oil this winter.

operative words... "last time"..... "January".... its almost 2015 now folks... looks like the filter has changed to the black one. wonder if its better or the same.
