Whats up with Vanqish pricing?
You can find a 2014 Vanquish for 190k-195k all over auto trader. Whats going on with this huge price drop from 325k or so in one year?

I just noticed this myself. After all the back and forth regarding a dbs or db9 I wanted to see pricing for a 2012 dbs and while at it I peeked at 2014 vanquishes. I was shocked to see them below 200k. I think the updated 2015 models with the 8 speed gear box might have played a part in the depreciation.

Crazy right! Now this got me thinking of a new vanquish as my wife wants to sell her GTS MC and wants a DBS lol All though I still prefer the classy lines of the DBS, I guess it wouldn't hurt having two in the garage.

I know! We are going to be picking up a new range rover next year as her baby car. Then we will really have British car syndrome lol

A guy wanted to trade his 3-month old, 500 mile M6 Cabrio at my dealership 2 months ago. He paid $139K. He was offered $80K for it. It's not just the Brits...

Ohhh wow. I know MBZ cars also take big hits. 2-3 year old s65/cl65 will run you 50% off MSRP

Just to be clear, IMO, a 2014 is 2-yr old (or about). I bet it's made in 2013 (or about) and tagged as 2014. And I bet the 2016 would be coming out in a few months. Lastly, as stated by others, the introduction of a newer better model doesn't help with depreciation also.

Nice theory but a 2014 is still a w014 when looked at for resale value even though it might have been manufactured in 2013.
2015 is not a newer model just has a new transmission and I'm stunned that maybe that's the case for a 125k price drop on a 2014. It will be interesting to see where the 2015 pricing is in one year and what happens to the 2014 pricing at that point.
I agree cars are def the worst purchase lol Unless you wait a year and pick one up for 65% LTV like in this case

Resale value based on interpretation of the manufacture year is transparent. What's concrete is the real depreciation schedule that we have seen, the effect of competing newer models (however big or subtle the changes are), the economy, etc. heck, some buyers would actually pay higher for the same car just to psychologically know that their cars is a year younger. I am sure we have been in this situation.
