Car won't start

Hi, quick questions. My 07 V8V is sitting in my garage and won't start. Charged the battery. It took overnight before the tender said it was fully charged, but any load on the battery (even just opening the trunk) depletes the battery to almost nothing. I'm getting a fast clicking sound from the driver's side dash, and the round red light on the upper left of the gauge cluster is blinking. So, two questions: Is it possible/likely that this is just a bad battery; and is my only option for getting it to the dealer to have it towed? Thanks.

Sounds like you're going to need a battery. If it's that low do not try to jump and drive it. I would have it towed, new battery installed. It will need things reset and the AM dealer should do this as part of the job. If the battery is replaced at home you could drive to the dealer and have them restore settings also. Hopefully you don't have anything else at fault.

+1 with J doubleU. New battery! My 07 had the original battery when I checked it months ago. Too many issue seem to come up when batteries are not in top condition. Here in FL heat really effects battery performance and life. I've made looking at the condition of my battery is part of my pre-summer check out. Just because the battery is a 4 or 5 year battery doesn't mean it's for sure gonna last. A good battery like good tires is cheap insurance . If I recall there is a great FAQ here - DIY posting on changing a battery.

Thanks. I'll have it towed to the dealer that installed a new battery about a year ago.
