Oil question Castrol Edge formerly TWS SAE 10w-60 for M series cars
I looked through various threads on this site about Castrol changing the branding and possibly formulation of the oil originally spec'd for the V8 Vantage over the last few years. I read that some folks were obtaining a similar spec oil through BMW from Castrol but now it may be replaced by a Shell product with the same specs.
The oil I found is Castrol Edge 10w-60 advanced full synthetic European Formula that notes it was formerly TWS with TWS in bold letters on the front label. This oil meets the A3/B3 and A3/B4 spec along with being API SN/CF. This does not list motorsports or professional on the front label like some of the older Castrol versions, however the label does state BMW exclusive approvals for BMW M-models and For BMW M-Models.
I'm thinking the oil I found meets the original specs of the engine, is from Castrol, and from what I can see is readily available. Any reason I shouldn't use this?

Thanks everyone for confirming. I found this oil at a couple of the local parts suppliers town so its easy to get at $12.99 a bottle
Going to complete the change today once I locate the two filter screens to be drained and cleaned.

They're both just rear of the oil filter. Each held on by two bolts, if I remember correctly you'll need torx bits for the bolts. Remove the bolts, then the cover. You'll probably need a very small screwdriver to pop out the filter. It's held in place by the o-ring's snug fitment. Oil will come out. Clean the filter, reinstall (preferably with a new o-ring). Repeat for the second one.

Be very careful with the torx heads as they strip easily. Be sure the socket is fully seated. I was surprised by how much force I needed to break them free but that is most likely the fault of the previous mechanic over tightening the bolts. I need 2 new screws before my next oil change.
