EGR delete

EGR delete
Has anyone with a pre 10' MY Vantage heard of or done an EGR delete on a Vantage? My car is throwing P1488 and in speaking with Stuart earlier there may be a way to erase the code with a tune at which point I may as well delete the EGR and cover it up to prevent the exhaust gasses routing back into the manifold.

I've done it on a few other cars, and thought about doing it a while back on my '07 just to simplify things. Mechanically it should be super easy to do: pull out the EGR module and tube to the exhaust manifold. Fab a delete plate for the EGR-to-intake manifold opening and another for the tube-to-exhaust manifold opening. So long as it's tuned for it, it shouldn't be a problem. Not sure if the system can detect the missing EGR module itself (if so, you might need a resistor plugged into the wiring harness where the EGR module plugs in). Easy test would be to unplug the wiring harness to the EGR module and see if your car throws a new code for that.

If you are worried about the computer throwing a code, just use a stainless steel blocking plate between the egr valve and its mounting.
This used to be the norm for all my cars until about 5 years ago when I became somewhat environmental friendly

Stuart-interested in your thoughts here too. Have had no exhaust fuse since '09 with zero codes. Is this for fuse 22?

I have threaded bungs to blank off EGR valves in stock, & we can do EGR delete in ECU Tune.

If you pull the fuse for the exhaust valves, it will store a code in the PCM - P01488. No warning light on the dash. Just notifies tech/dealer that the valves aren't working properly. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks Stuart, so P0401 is the only code throwing the warning light and is EGR related. Appreciate your guidance
