Friend of a friend is having this issue with his S5. Dealer wants nothing to do with it and says its a "non-issue". His is pretty severe from what I've gathered.
Starting to remind me of their response to the issues with the old 5000s.
Just a question???
How many of you that are having the issue have this option?
Audi drive select Adapt the characteristics of the A5 to suit your personal preferences using the three modes comfort, auto and dynamic – from extremely comfortable to decidedly sporty. Audi drive select includes the dynamic steering and adaptive damper control systems.
Is this a simular system to the "magnetic" system that is in the TT?

I'd be curious to see if this is an issue on the standard S5 suspension or w/the Drive select suspension.
I have the same problem!!!! I'm drive a A5 2008, with 19 wheels, since i got the car in february 2008, they never fixed the problem. I replaced the Dunlop for Michelin but the problem still there.
I don't know what to do anymore.
I have taken my car to the dealer more than 5 times, they said that it's normal.
Have they solve your problem?
I hope I can shed some light here. This IS a known issue with A5/S5's on the B8 chassis and YES Audi knows about it. My tech rep from Audi is very familiar with it and says that in some cases it is tires with excessive roadforce, while other times it is a drivetrain vibration due to bushings in the subframe/suspension.
Your dealer should not be ignoring this concern and telling customers it is normal.
THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN # FROM AUDI REGARDING THIS ISSUE IS: 2017475
The tech at your dealer will have to open a hotline channel with Audi before replacing anything else on your car and they will instruct him on what to do-T

Thank you very much for the instructions.
I will go to the Audi dealership monday morning and i will tell then about it.
I will let you know what happened.
I'm new here, was searching for the generic 'S5 Vibration' tag and came across this thread... I'm in the UK and bought a new S5 this summer, delivered September and it has had a vibration since picking it up... (along with other numerous rattles/brakes pulling etc etc etc) anyway back on track... my dealer is pretty much pulling the plug on me complaining about this damn vibration so i'm about to take it up with Audi Corporate in the UK, i'll keep you posted....
In brief, car drives well until you reach 60 MPH, everything is stock... from this speed up to around 75 it gradually gets worse peaking at 80 then rolls off.. you can feel it in the body, through the seat but very slightly in the steering wheel.. if you jam your hand between the passenger seat and centre console you get a good indication of how the body feels... it vibrates like hell and is driving me crazy.. everytime I drive now i'm looking to see if the damn vibration is still there... I've posted on the A5OC forum under 'I hate this car' !! for a more in depth description and other S5 owner replies...
Keep this thread alive guys. Audi - wake up and show your valued customers that you don't think we are stupid. We are on our 3rd set of wheels and tires and car still vibrates like crazy. Such a beautiful ride, so sexy, ultimate interior, then you hit 60mph and all the love goes away
