Better Shifting for DSG Audi Cars is HERE!

With every modification you do to your vehicle, you want to make sure it is improving the driveability and aesthetically looks good on your car. We noticed that the Audi DSG paddle shifters were definitely lacking in this department. The smaller shifter made it hard to quickly bang through the gears on the street, mountain roads, and on the track. While keeping your hands on the steering wheel in the appropriate position, you would have to take your hand off the wheel in a turn to reach for the small OEM paddle. What Agency Power has developed is a complete replacement paddle for the Audi DSG paddle shifter transmission.

These aluminum paddle shifters are CNC machined 6061 aluminum that is precision engineered to fit on to the stock electronic switch module. Each paddle curves in the shape of the steering wheel and is beveled to provide an easy grip and quick shift no matter where you press on it. The shifters are approximately 6 inches in length compared to the stock one which is almost 3 inches. Each paddle features a very clean engraved + and – sign which is then available painted in either blue, red, white, or silver. The paddles come in a flat satin black anodized finish. The installation of the paddle shifters is approximately 1 hour. Paddle shifters are sold as a pair, left and right, and include the Agency Power warranty. Paddles fit the following models: Audi A3, A4, A6, A8, and Q7 2005+

Looks similar to the E46 M3 SMG.

for the GTI, check out the piece that mounts to the steering wheel. See if it is similar to the Audi.

They attach via the factory electronic module that fits to the steering wheel.

Yes we built them a similar style to our E46 M3 paddle shifters we did years ago. These were the Titanium ones.

Ewwwww.

I have to say I think they look terrible!

Not only do they cover the stalks on the steering wheel, but I also disagree with the OPs comments on "Better Shifting". Firstly, it is simply the transmission ECU along with the correct adaptation of the mechatronics control which determines the quality of the shifting. Secondly, if the driver wants to correctly use the paddle shifters when cornering, then it is perfectly possible to do so with the standard paddle shifts, by keeping your hands on the wheel in the "quarter to three" position.

Finally, being as these are made of aluminium, then they will be extremely cold to touch in cold weather.

Oh, and I think they are way overpriced. You can get some carbon fibre paddle extensions, which look far better, for less money.

To .:Raul: These will NOT fit the GTI, and I doubt that they would correctly fit any VAG paddle shift wheel, because virtually all steering wheels have slightly different paddle profiles.

Well sir - you have had your say now...

First as far as the look, if you think they look terrible, then you are not a fan of M3, Ferrari, GT-R, or the new PDK on Porsche. As far as better shifting, as a road racer, there are some techniques you most use in cornering that require your hands to be moved from that position. Since many Audi owner drive on the street, there are even more turns that require your hands to come off that position and these extension allow for the ability to shift at any spot. Cold to the touch??? Seriously I cannot even respectfully answer that. Overpriced? Please send us a link to these carbon extensions. Would love to see them.

I will test these on a GTI shortly. Thanks.

If anyone is in AZ I will give you a FREE set - http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...18#post3050718

Ermm . . . my opinion has nothing at all to do with being a "fan" - but is based on simple "aesthetics". And I have seen some vastly better designed ones which are made in carbon fibre - for less than what you are selling yours for.

And why you feel the need to bring in BMWs and other marques when this is an Audi specific section of the forum? If I wanted an M3, then I'd buy one - but I don't like them, and am happy with the general design and styling of VWs ans Audis!

Nope. Can't agree. Any professional race school instructor will specifically tell you to keep your hands at the 3 and 9 positions. This is supported by the factory Seat Cupra Championship race cars (which are part of the VAG stable, and use identical production DSG gearboxes).

Furthermore, this is also supported by every Formula 1 car - look how tiny their paddles are.

Nope, again, I disagree. In case you missed my sig, I have a Golf GTI with DSG, and I have NEVER felt the need for bigger paddles. And am able to make all my turns with my hands in the 3 and 9 positions. Don't forget that in England, and Europe in general, we have much tighter turns than you have in the US.

Oh, jeeez, please remove your head from where the sun don't shine! I can assure you that unless you live near the equator, then bare aluminium (including alloys) DOES feel cold to the touch.

Carbon Fibre Paddles - from the manufacturer, and the TT Shop prices at $266, compared to your 300 bucks!

I can assure you yours wont fit the GTI. The profile of the face of the paddles are different. The paddles on the Audi TT are also different. This is very much a case of "one size does NOT fit all".

I think they look great. On my local track (Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA) there are a series of slow and tight turns where you cannot physically keep your hands on the 3 and 9 positions and still turn the wheel enough to get around the corners. It's also a place where a swift downshift will get you setup nicely for a better-geared corner exit. I don't race my Cayenne but the steering wheel shifters on this thing are poorly positioned and designed for even parking lot driving.

Teutonic - those are not complete replacements. They are add ons. You might as well take cardboard and double sided tape. You are the one that came out of the gates with your aggressive postings.
