There has to be a way to get Audi to bring the RS6 Sedan and Estate to the US. I think these Panamera guys need somone to show them the way around. Also that you can have a very fast v10 twin turbo, 4 wheel drive, 4 door that seats 5 and doesn't look like a frog.

Why aren't the RS6s sold in the states? They are available here in OZ but no one is buying them...
Cause they cost a lot more in Oz then what they would cost in the states^
Example: B7 RS4 is about 3X the price in US dollars in Australia then USD in the states. Cars are cheaper stateside.
Also,
there are a couple C6 (2008 maybe?) RS6's in the states...I think driven up from Mexico? There is already a previous thread on this subject.
Its my understanding that Audi is only producing 8000 or so. Didn't want to federalize it for sale in the US. I think this car will do wonders [as had the R8 and R10] for their image here. Especially having a car that kicks what porsche has offered. [And Im a Porsche guy] These guys were responding left and right saying the Pan may not be pretty but no one else offers anything close. Some actually said it was beautiful! I sent them the specs on the RS6. [funny, things got quiet]

I know they cost three times the price in OZ that's why I said not many people are buying them.
Like vanquishv12 explained its the issue of federalize (I guess for safety regulations/crash tests) that's stopping them from officially selling in the states.

While I don't know the total production number of C5 RS6s that were built, the US only got about 1200 of them and I would say the last bunch of them were somewhat hard to sell.
So in a down economy, it's doubtful the C6 RS6 would even sell a 1000 at the price that Audi would need to turn a profit (in the US).
actually the only reason...and its silly at that is that Audi only brings one rs model to the states at a time.....we had the rs4 last time....when ist "life" is over we will have the next RS car...since the rs6 and rs8 are already in production...none for us, we have to wait for the next new RS model. probably going to be an rs3 .
the RS6 and 8 that are here re all test mules....we see them here in AZ from time to time.
the 2006 RS6 sold slow cause there were only 1200 cars sent, no press about them..and no test drives...no "proof" it was worth the 80K+ they were asking.....with that many sold...resale numbers suck....there was never enough hooplah to build up demand.
