First 14 days with my new (new to me) 2013 RS5
#1
I bought my RS5 after I found out a deal for a used GT3 did not go through. I found it behind a VW dealership here in Atlanta and I fell in love with it during the test drive. What sold me? The rev matching on down shifts! Oh, quick specs: B&O, adaptive cruise, sports exhaust, MMI plus, blah,blah, it does not have carbon brakes which is my next mod. Speaking of mods let's see, it's been mildly dropped by the previous owner, tinted, it's black w/back optics so it looks bad ***, but strangely it has light colored wheels. At first I thought it was weird but I like it. I have the carbon engine cover, spacers (this week) and I was pondering on the Kline exhaust but I'm leaning on keeping that stock.
Driving impressions, well my car has 25k on it and yesterday it was baptized by my buddy's 997 TT, all 630hp worth (no Easter pun). We had a blast and rang up 135-145mph for short bursts. How did it do? The RS5 feels more special than any M3 variant to me. Yes, I'm sure they may handle better but the B8 feels "special". It charges up the rev range like a Honda S2000 on Creatine. It shifts lightning fast with burps, grunts, and farts as it goes up and down the gears and it held its own with it's automotive cousin 5 times removed. Not bad for 14 days old. I think I have a nice ride, I don't know how long I will keep her. I never wanted to part ways with the A8L I traded to get the RS5, but for now she is a keeper. Oh and the ride is fine, stiff but comfy. It could use bigger role bars in my opinion and I am thinking hard about the carbon brakes. I may do the LED interior light deal, other then that and some rims (and some Michelin SS) she is fine as she sits. Yep, not bad for my first 14 days with my bad *** black on black German warrior chick RS5.

Update!!!!!!!::::
The RS5 is more special than I thought. Last week I was doing some research on Audi's German main site and on YouTube and I learned that the car IS NOT built by Audi. It's built by Quattro GmbH, with its own unique VIN and everything. During the 2013-15 model years, only 1,500 total will be imported here and mine is #94. The only external panel from the A5 is the roof and the doors. Everything else is Quattro specific. The reason the car does not have dynamic ride control DRC, is because the mounts did not comply with US crash regs so they were pulled. I personally like the fixed dampers besides it saves weight. Lastly, this is week 4 with the car and I learned that it does not really like street driving. The clutch sometimes engages with a modest thump and it does not bother me. I attribute that to double clutch gearbox general behavior. But the car LOVES to go fast and it performs better the harder you push it. Quattro even put a little burp in the exhaust during up shifts!

Thanks Serge! It's awesome but not my beloved P-car. I could not stand buying an ordinary 997S. So my budget is keeping me from GT3 ownership but this will do for now. See you at C&O.

Unfortunately, there are a lot more than 1500 in the states. There's a thread on audiworld forum with the guy getting info from Audi of America. There are 1502 2013 models and 1200 something 2014's. No data for 2015 yet.
We all got screwed in a way. I too thought it's only 1500... figured, it'll be a rare car that owns it's value... Yeah right. The darn thing depreciates just as same as an S5.
