Well the person that offered $41k dropped it to $40k - no way now. I am anxious to sell but not desparate! $42k is fair considering everything the car has going for it.

You can look at it that way but I was holding out for $43k - comparable cars at dealers are at least $5k more and they have no extras, way less warranty, etc.
But they are "at" the dealer. Probably not moving. I'd say take the 40k and call it a day. Car sales are hard today unfortunately.

The benefit the dealer has is the ability to finance the neg equity of the traded car into the new loan. So, for the average Joe that doesn't understand the financing or doesn't care, the dealer makes for an easy transaction.
Of course, a cash paying buyer should seriously consider your car. It's a good deal for sure.
PS. You may want to inquire with Porsche about getting a refund on the warranty. Perhaps, you can get it all back. That way, you can have a real attractive starting price and not get raped. I did that on my SLK55.
Potential offer for $42k on the table from a past interested party in TX - maybe it will sell this time. However, if someone else is interested feel free to contact me ASAP since one never knows these days!
